I actually find that very handy for camera moves -- esp in the vert room. I have learned to make a selection in the area I want to focus on so I can swing around and eyeball it from different directions. The main downside is you can't have an active selection you mean to DO something with during this time.

Usually, when rotating objects in the Vertex Modeler, or duplicating with symmetry, the object flys off the screen, and much time is lost zooming out far enough to find it. If it always happened, I could just accept it as another 'undocumented feature' of Carrara. But sometimes, like rotating multiple spokes in a wheel, it behaves just fine. Is there a way to stop things from flying away?
