Well there's not much point in complaining now! I bought BOTH version's as an upgrade from P5 ( couldn't wait )which is a pretty neet trick as it says on the CL purchase page that you can only use your existing serial No. on poser 5 ONCE in order to buy upgrades for Poser 6!

CL could have not let DL's happen till the box orders started to ship. The DL's would still have it a couple a days early, yet the box waiters wouldn't have felt left in the cold. That would have been a waste. It reminds me of the whining from the MAC users we heard over the P5 release. Bottom line for CL though is that they really don't have to make people happy or provide good customer support. People will buy their product anyway because of it's capabilities and price. Until they have some serious competition customer support will be secondary. Think about it, box buyers (and I was one) had no guarantee whatsoever about when the product arrives. It could get here after Christmas and we would have no right to complain, no promises would have been broken.

[quote XENOPHONZ]"Years ago, I used to eagerly get up at 5:00AM or so on Christmas morning -- with enormous excitement. These days, I have a hard time dragging myself out of bed............ "

Quote - Yeah. But you have to wonder if that's a good thing. I kinda miss being excited about it. I've become so, I don't know how to put it... disconnected... with what used to be the magic. And I'm talking about most things, not just holidays. I can remember dying to see "Roger Rabbit". And while that sense of anticipation can still come ("Sin City") it's not as powerful as it used to be. I'm not at that first show on opening day anymore. Gladly missing a day of work to do so. :) [quote XENOPHONZ]"I am supposed to be receiving my copy of Vue Infinite in the mail tomorrow." > Quote - Most cool. You'll have the latest versions of Poser and Vue. Maybe you can tell me if they fixed that little prob I brought to both CL and e-on's attention a few months ago. If you're interested, let me know and I'll PM you. take care kmw

kmw: On your first comment. For me it's not worth missing a day of work to see a new movie. That's because I know there's going to be some a$$hole with a celphone sitting in front of me talking louder than the theatre volume so his/her dumba$$ friend (who didn't go) can here the rant about how cool the water looks when Dash runs across the lagoon. I think with age comes the wisdom of waiting a few days and then catching the late show. Insert any situation with the first paragraph. I still get excited about things in general. I've just mellowed a little, which has allowed me to not "need it now"! I do need it tomorrow though. :) Cheers, Joe P.S. I don't get frustrated about this stuff anymore. I just shrug my shoulders and wait.

That is what my comment was too. A shrug my shoulders thought. I really don't give a flying #### when the DL'ers get P6. I'm reading all their comment, good and bad. That is to our advantage, the box waiters. Work arounds and new discoveries are happening every day. We might not even have to wait for an SR.

[quote LawnDartLawnDart]"For me it's not worth missing a day of work to see a new movie."

Well, there was a time I LOOKED for reasons to not go to work. And a movie was, for me, the best. There was a time I even left work early to go to a movie. I loved movies and didn't give a damn about work, so substituting one for the other was sooooo easy.

Nowadays I'm less likely to do it only because I don't get that excited about movies anymore.

And yeah, the cell phone (along with the video tape and DVD) have totally obliterated the fine art of knowing when to shut the hell up. People just don't believe there's a reason to refrain from talking. I've sat in theatres where people are having genuine conversations. Now even about the movie! Just sitting there talking like they were in their living room.

This is why I tend to go to early shows. Especially for new films that I don't want to wait and see. That first weekend is when the socializers go. i.e., the people who use the movies as a social occasion as opposed to wanting to see a story unfold before them. Those're the people most likely to talk through the whole damned thing or have a phone conversation.

Curiously all my kids feels the same way. They hate people who talk through a movie. Because I've been teaching them movie equiette since they were toddlers.

Here's irony, not complaints, just irony. I pre-ordered the boxed version so that I'd have relatively stable backup media. I forget exactly when I did, but it was during the "pre-order" period. The fact I pre-ordered P5 entitled me to additional discounts. Total price for P6, Shade, the extra content, etc, just over 80 dollars including the shipping. Monday evening I took advantage of a fantastic deal from NewTek, a "competitive upgrade" to get LightWave 8.2 for under 500 dollars! TrueSpace (which I have) was listed as a valid "competitive" product. I received an e-mail Tuesday evening from NewTek stating they had handed the processed order to UPS. The tracking information states I should receive it tomorrow (Friday)! In summary, though I ordered P6 far earlier, I'll get LW8.2 before Poser arrives. Heh, heh! Go fig'! Sincerely, Bill

Tempt the Hand of Fate and it'll give you the "finger"!

I've discovered that going to the opening of a major release is still exciting. "Spiderman2" on opening was great... people were watching it. The second and third "LOTR" movies had a midnight showing... and we packed the theatre with quiet watchful fans teetering between apprehension and appreciation. Most art movies such as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" or "Ghost in the Shell2" are great, too, until they get into the mainstream. I prefer watching in a theatre with other people who are also watching intently. You see details on the big screen. Some moves just need that sort of canvas. However, some movies are "events" and then one is hoping to be with like-minded people, even if they make noise. The first Star Wars movie back in the 70s? The audience spontaneously erupted into applause when the Millenium Falcon went into hyperspace. They weren't applauding the escape (the heroes always get free), but the effect. Life is made of moments. Who wants to lose the opportunity to be there when something unfolds? Carolly
