Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
Im one of those really behind the times people that never got as far as poser , was always put off by the horror stories and I had finally got poser 4 working in a way that I could understand it .so no material room and no transparency node to turn off Im afraid. Maybe thats what I remember seeing. Damn and blast, thanks though for your time.
If you select the dress, and then go into the menus and find an sub-menu option like 'Figure display settings'(? I'm at work so can't check Poser for the exact title at the moment) and change it to cartoon or wireframe, the dress should be easier to see as these aren't affected by transparencies.

There is a line of 9 spheres under your working window. Click on them to get wireframes, or polygons, or texture shaded views. (The folded quickstart card which comes with Poser has all these control items explained.) The rendered image will show the render settings (which will have cast shadows, anti-aliasing, and other features you can control). But, while you are working, you can choose a more solid mode. The other thing you can do is go into the Material Dialogue box (under Render > Materials) and find the sliders which control the transparency. Move them to 0 so that your garment is opaque, then move them back to where they were when you want to render. Carolly
nruddock is correct. Also, from the Display menu, select Figure Style.

Thank you very much, I didnt know that was even there; really you think you have begun to get a handle on something then it goes and proves you wrong. I dont know I feel I have only scratch the surface of poser pro and now were onto poser6. Do I really want to start all over when I havent got to grips with what I have, though there does seem to be a better vibe about it than poser 5. Again a BIG thank you for that. Its always the case it would be easy if you know how, and thanks to you people out there I now know a little bit more.
P5 is great stuff, honest injun. I been using it for over a year now and I love it. P6 sounds even better, from what I hear on here. Have fun and don't ever hesitate to ask questions.

I have dalilah_dress and love it but have a heck of a time posing it and especially for animation as it wont go into carton mode in order to better see it, it just stays in wire frame. I have a vague memory of there being a way around this but cant for the live of me remember where I saw the solution. If anyone knows Id love to know as there are a couple of hairstyles with the same problem. thanks
