Subject: [poser 5] I can't make "big" movies, after a while, it doesn't render anymore

Hi... I tried all the night to get a 300x300 movie of my character's head in poser 5 .. first with a total of 50 frames then of 35.. it was simply impossible to finish the rendering. it always stopped at ~30 frames on "creating frame : 30" and then i can wait .. 2 hours and it doesn't change.. Can someone help ? I have 1go RAM and enough disk space.. I had once a message that I hadn't enough virtual memory, so I put it "system controlled" on 2 disks ...

Are you rendering out to individual frames, or trying to go directly to .avi? If rendering out to individuals, if the process halts at any point you can start it from where you left off. The only issue with individual frames is that you have to import them into a video editing app (I use Quicktime Pro, $29.99) to assemble into a vid. Is your page file (virtual memory) set to 1.5 Gig? That's usually the rec., 1.5 times the physical RAM. It is always a good idea to do this before a major render: Exit Poser Reboot. Do not launch any programs, including browser and email. Make a 'safety' copy of your pz3 Go back in Check render settings Render

I tried directly to .avi.. but the individual frames method is not stupid ! (I thought to, this night, but I haven't tried) My virtual memory is on 3go Max (C:/) + system controlled on another disk (D:/) Thanks ,)

Also, lower the bucket size. THat can help with cranky animation renders. Nerd3D

I had the same problem in earlier Service Releases. With SR 4 it was gone.By the way how to render a movie into single pics inside Poser-what's the setting?

I tried to render to several pitures and not directly to an .avi but it stopped at frame 30 on 35 .. so the same problem occured. timberwolf : when you click on the menu : "animation" / "Make movie" in "sequence type", you simply select "Image files"

If it fails or you need to interrupt an image sequence, you resume it by opening the animation pallette and setting the animation range (two sliders at the bottom of the window, Green bar between them) to the frames that still need to be rendered. Nerd3D
