No child nudity of any kind which includes exposed chest on females, buttocks or genitals. Ok so not a lot of folks liked it, no asked us what we felt about it, it happened, so the rules are, as is (get to the point) what about the money making stuff? poser products for one. this is where rendo get some of it cash? do the same rules run here. i have just seen a new prod that as part of its package has a pic of a young boy, with not only his chest exposed but also his genitals. can i take it from this that 1. the rule nolonger apply 2. the rules still apply, but not to sale items 3. no one looks sale stuff over before it gos up

Why don't we argue about politics instead?

If what you're saying is correct and a product image has broken the guidelines, why not IM the store staff instead of dragging it out here? You should know you're about to start a huge argument here. Oh well, I'll get the popcorn and beer.

Uh... 1. Cause this is the quickest way to not make art? 2. Bored and want to spike an arguement in the forums? 3. Never saw any of the other 300 posts about this? 4. Has substantial amount of stock in the popcorn and beer companies? 5. All of the above?

AmbientShade ( ) posted Sat, 16 April 2005 at 5:52 PM

You know, I hate commenting on threads like this, but since you mentioned it and I noticed an example earlier today.... there's a product in the MP that the thumbnail clearly violates tos 3 fold. its not just 1 naked braud but 3. (so actually i guess that's 6 fold - ha!). I was gonna say something to one of the mod's about it, but got busy doing something else, and don't really like pointing fingers at anybody... E.D.

EnglishBob ( ) posted Sat, 16 April 2005 at 6:55 PM

"my Good Lady is babysitting for her sister tonight" What a coincidence - mine too. That's why I'm posting in threads like this, instead of behaving myself. gulp crunch

Puntomaus,
Lovely image, sorry it got deleted.
What youre seeing is the start of the next wave of enforcement on nudity.
While most members are too involved with their shiny new toy (Poser6) or passing TOS changes off as some free speech depriving Right Wing conspiracy, they fail to see what is really happing here.
Simply put, Renderosity is now the Wal-Mart of Poserland and needs to act like it.
It needs to be accessible to the lowest common denominator of customer and open for any and all business opportunities (banner ads, software companies, etc).
That and along with being submissive to Pay-Pals business(?) demands, it is now necessary to purge this site of any and all content that anyone may find objectionable.
A small gallery is still needed for newbies pics and to show off products, but it needs to be in a format that is viewable by anyone (al la Daz3d).
Soyou will see a complete banning on nudity, implied nudity, and sexual situations coming in the future.

How far in the future?
From what Ive been observing, soonVERY SOON.

Edited:Sorry to see your image and post have been deleted here also.

Wouldn't sinking to the lowest common denominator mean that they'd have to pander to the sleazoids and pedophiles? My belief at this point, with all these tiresome, repetitive threads by the child nudity enthusiasts, is that they should do it like the porno site (Renderotica) does it. Meaning, no child images of any kind, no wasting time arguing with the pedophiles over whether it's salacious or not, and if the pedophiles don't like it, they can go to one of the nude fairy sites. No ifs, ands or butts about it.

Tired of the subject...bored to death... Yawn going to bed now. Feel free to beat each other up...I'm sure this will still be going when I wake up tomorrow.

"Wouldn't sinking to the lowest common denominator mean that they'd have to pander to the sleazoids and pedophiles?" No. "Lowest common denominator" indicates statistical mean, not extreme deviation from it. :-)

SWAMP ( ) posted Sat, 16 April 2005 at 8:32 PM

mateo, No I didn't say, "sinking to the lowest common denominator", I said, "be ACCESSIBLE to the lowest common denominator". Which means this site can be viewed by ANYONE regardless of age, sex, morals, or ideology. That is merely my observation on the business direction Renerosity seems to be headed. And mateo, I believe I have a history here of just trying to be helpful to other members and not getting into any cyber pissing matches. In fact I have never even given my opinion one way or the other on the TOS changes. I can understand you not understanding what I wrote, but making a broad statement as arguing with the pedophiles I find very offensive. It is also VERY slanderous and very much against the TOS. And there is "No ifs, ands or butts" about that either!!

My belief at this point, with all these tiresome, repetitive threads by the SF enthusiasts, is that they should do it like the RIAA does it. Meaning, no space images of any kind, no wasting time arguing with the Siths over whether it's salacious or not, and if the Trekies don't like it, they can go to one of the NASA sites. elizabyte ( ) posted Sat, 16 April 2005 at 9:13 PM

Well, deleting clothed V3 images that use character packages that are sold here is a little extreme, methinks (and yes, that happened). Next time you're bored, take a look through the "Most Viewed" images. At least two of them are violations of TOS, but R'sity doesn't seem to care about them at all, despite them being highly visible... I've also heard that R'sity only removes images when someone has complained about them, and if that's the case, do they keep track of the complainers to consider just what THEIR agenda might be? This is getting more and more absurd all the time. Clothed V3 is now a nude child! bonni

AmbientShade ( ) posted Sat, 16 April 2005 at 9:33 PM

forget the galleries, look at the marketplace. if business with paypal has any bearing on the changes made to the tos, then don't you think they would be trying to "G-Up" the marketplace? if paypal was really concerned about wanting to take a peak at the content over here, where do you think they'd look first, the marketplace or the galleries? there are several thumbnails in the MP that clearly violate tos. E.D.

nickedshield ( ) posted Sat, 16 April 2005 at 9:47 PM

I have IM'd the original poster to send the details of the offending banner/article to the Marketplace staff. That is the quickest way to resolve issues and ensure that they're picked up by staff. Not posting in a software forum, which isn't handled by the Marketplace staff. Especially on a Saturday night, when I for one am spending a little time with my poor deprived family G Just to clarify, the marketplace rules on child nudity are extremely strict: no child nudity at all. Any exceptions that you spy should be brought to the attention of MP staff straight away. Given that this thread seems to be breaking some people's page view, I'll be locking it.
