Other features:
Early WIP from five days ago after five hours of modelling. Only the feet are completed in this picture, the rest has been fixed since then.
Product package will include two skin textures, one set of clothes, one weapon, jet pack and jumpsuit, boots and, off course, his cigar.
Price: Maybe free? Maybe free and you just pay me $5 for the gun in the package, lol. Maybe $10 and I'll include the poses and animation pack as well. So, who else is joining the modelling bonanza? If we release enough figures with enhancements, Curious Labs can check how they all work, combine them, and release the ultimate figures in Poser 7. Or maybe Poser 9, or 12. Or maybe we will always be one step ahead of them, lol.

PS This is my third figure. I have two others, Geni and Eric, but they have been six months in development, and will have another six months before they are ready, and they will make this one look like a test model, lol, which is what he is. Starkdog. Could you paste a wireframe? What program are you using for the UV Map? Will this take the standard Poser rigging system? And most of all, what do you think of Silo? I am using Wings, Cinema4D and Shade, and I am not happy with any of them. Looking for a change.

While you are modelling, you have to remember how the human body bends. Your model is going to need some cutting of the "fold" lines, so that the mesh can deform properly when bending.
If you look at Jessi, Vicky, Possette, etc, you will see that the different body parts are split along natural "lines". What I do when I model is make a very basic planar body UV Map, and then I overlay a muscle map, so that I can see where to make the muscle lines flow, and then I cut my polygons along those lines. I don't have my models with me (I am at work) so I can't show you, but this was the first version of my Geni model from about 6-8 months ago. See the black lines on the arms? They flow out of the muscle direction, allowing the polygons to fold closer to the human way muscles and joints work.
I did "cheat" a bit on this Major Rice model, lol, I cloned the basic shape from an early lo-res model that I had made for my Eric figure, and then just shaped it and tweaked it (Eric is a more "normal" man shaped). The foot is cloned from my Eric model. A foot is a foot, so I am not going to model it from scratch everytime, I just tweak it and shape it for the model I am using it on. Geni's foot was also made from Eric's foot, sort of like a low budget Adam and Eve movie, lol. The original foot I made for Eric took me three weeks!!!!!

"So, who else is joining the modelling bonanza? If we release enough figures with enhancements,(snip)" who's gonna make clothes for all these new figures..I'm half expecting a new wave of nekkid temple pics. helgard..you say only the feet are finished in your model so I won't bother offering any crits..looking forward to seeing more though Stefan
Stefan, Mine is a one-off figure. He will come with one set of clothes and all the equipment needed to use him in sci-fi or military renders. Sort of the same as the drone-trooper from Dystopia, he will be a stand-alone figure. If someone else wants to make add-on clothes for him they will be welcome, but he is just going to be a test rig to test some of the new rigging controls for the two proper figures, Geni and Eric. I will be making his polygons open source for clothing though, so people can just copy the polygons and make clothes from that, and they won't need to model clothing from scratch. I may include base meshes for boots, pants, shirt, gloves, etc, that people can use to model clothes from. I think if anyone wants to release a succesfull figure they are going to have to release base meshes for clothing with the figures. What I am doing for the Geni and Eric figures is releasing a developers pack which will have base meshes for clothing, base textures you can add onto, etc. Yes, I am working from drawings. I bought five books on figure drawing and animation, and downloaded about 400 pictures from the net for reference, everything from muscle maps, x-rays, skin textures, Leonardo's drawings, medical pictures, etc, and even did research into things like the average number of eyelashes for a human (it differs vastly according to ethnicity). I have worked through the demo's, and am still busy, for Character Studio, Project Messiah, MotionBuilder, etc, to see if there are better ways of animating Poser figures. At the rate of research vs. work, while still making freebie trucks and things, I will be lucky if I finish any of this in six months like my plan is. Lol, maybe I will have Geni and Eric ready for Poser 7!! PS: NFYOMWBSIATCAC (Naked forty year old man with battle scars in a temple chewing a cigar) may be improvements over NVIATWAS.

I am inspired by Project Kaimira and Sixus' Linlin 2, and decided to try modeling an anatomically correct Poser character. So far, I have spent about 10 hours modeling what is pictured. Believe it or not, the model pictured is only 761 polys so far, and that includes 1 iteration of subdivision. It is really cool, because the knee, calf, and hip have a lot of detail, and I have not created any edgeloops yet. I am really excited about my progress so far, and I am looking for any suggestions. I am using pics from 3d.sk as a reference for body geometry, and probably for skin textures eventually. For stats, Ashleigh will be anatomically correct with body and face morphs; she will be about 5'6" tall, and a non-supermodel figure. Ashleigh will be a typical 21 year old woman, although she could morph into a late teen 18-19 years old. I do plan to release her with a hair set or two. Please let me know what you think, and also if you have any suggestions. Thanks, -The Starkdog
