here's a blurb that explains pretty much what happened...small arms fire. I used to work on low flying aircraft..they often came back with holes through the bottom...also sides, but they were at an angle coming from the ground... usually just a round hole where the bullet goes through... they used to rivet a small round disk to cover the hole...size of a silver dollar or so... rarely windshield hits...of course the hueys took more ground based fire when they went in, as did the planes...but mostly from groundfire while flying...

meselfr: Thanks. Little_Dragon: OK. To the best of my knowledge and references is that just the red cross on 3 white panels on side doors and front ? William: More than. The "super seam guide" with panel, rivets and guide lines took nearly 3 days! With this you'll be able to do a camo map within hours. Plus the seam guide has an easy to use rivet "making system". The model will be avliable soon at VP, content paradise, here at rosity, 3DC, and other fine virtual stores. Even though I'm vacationing, [it's a hard job but some has to do :)]. Keep posting suggestions here, one of the VP team will pick them up and the textures will be made later.
