Discussion of the open sourcing is taken place at this site...Yes those figures look great!Especialy the male, if someone takes the rensposibility to model mouth and seperate eyes to the same quality as the overall model and riggs it for poser I can work the UVS to M1-2 (I'm working SIMEON at this time to take M1-2 and if the model worths it I may gather patience to redo it for the male model...) :^) pitklad
Zygote and e-Frontier are still asking for imput at this point about how they should open source their future endeavors. So factoring the time it takes to rig and map are important considerations as well as if the model is intended for the market or freebies... Jim, can Jessi's head morphs be transfered to Glamorous Jessi using Morph Manager? The rigging looks great. She is certainly a lot taller :)

I think there will be a rig, morphs, and texture maps available by next month. A third party submitted a rig for the male figure last week. Stay tuned...Also bear in mind I'm trying to do a GOOD job... ;-)
For comparision, I set my low-res Poser figures (shown next to IV) up in a total of about 4 hours, I started with the Posette CR2, moved the joints around as required, no JCM, no teeth, she actually poses a little better than the Posette on a good day. I purposely made the mesh so the parts were in roughly the same pace as the Posette, to make this easier.
I also should mention that I don't think it is going to be easy to rig a figure with the arms's mesh running straight down, as the Zygote figures seem to have. The "up" bend is going to be a nightmare, with close to 180 degrees of change.
Oh, about GJ, right now GJ has the low-res head, but when she is finished she will also have a version with the high-res head and stock (high-res) neck, those two parts should be able to take morphs intended for regular hi-res Jessi. Body morphs will not transfer.
And if you look at clsteves reply in the "long" thread about these figures you will see something intresting that nobody seems to have picked up on...

Jim whats your opinion on where the arms should be when modeling a figure, i've thought for a long time they should be in the down position as it seems to me they tend to be there in more poses than not....then the problems we get with shoulders would only be there in the up position....and of course we could model suits to look right :o)........Steve
Well, my thinking is if they are straight out they are in the middle of the range, and it is surely going to be easier to fit clothing to 'em, too. If they are down the sides they have to withstand about 170 degrees of up rotation, that is a awful stretch for thos polygons in the armpit, and a awful compression on those at the top of the shoulder. They will look better on poses near straight down, I agree, but I wonder about bending, and I also wouldn't want to try and make clothing for that position. ;-)
"Never mind...some people go way off the deep end even when an owner tells them it's OK to do it." And where, precisely, is it said it is ok to do it?

"I think there will be a rig, morphs, and texture maps available by next month. A third party submitted a rig for the male figure last week. Stay tuned..." Apparently someone is already working on it. I suspect that at this point when the open source license isn't written out yet you would be best to contact Zygote and ask specifically what you allowed to do.
Apparently so. Sorta calls the entire thing into question.
In any event, that doesn't answer the question I asked in response to an earlier statement:
Where, precisely, does it say we can do anything with them. Everything I've seen thus far is "we're thinking about it".
Just looking for some sort of clarity.

ynsaen and others, Your input has been invaluable. We have been able to validate our original assumptions about this offering and will be making an official statement later this week. Your continued input and suggestions are encouraged.Attached Link: http://www.zygote.com/newsletter.php
Topica has been down around 8 hours and should be working now. Sorry for any inconvienence.I tried for three days in a row to register using a hotmail address. No luck. The first time I tried using my old e-mail address from South Africa, it worked. Two other people I know, as well as the two in the posts above, are also saying that they can't register. Maybe you should have a look and do a few tests by trying to register from hotmail, yahoo, etc, to see where the problem is. If I know of four people who couldn't register and said something about it, how many are there that I don't know about, and who haven't said anything.

Just curious if anyone was working with or playing with the free zygote figures? They look great but I have no idea how to make them poser ready. Zygote did give their permission (link attached)
