Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 09 4:28 pm)
One of the first things I do when I install something is to delete all the P4 files. They are actually dangerous in Poser 5 and Poser 6 because a lot of them ask for missing .bum files and this can hang your system. Apparently Poser 4 had the ability to create .bum files, but they aren't needed in Poser 5 and Poser 6. PP files are safe to keep and can be used in Poser 5 and Poser 6.
Same, if I get a DAZ item I right offf the bat delete teh p4 folders, if there is no p5 then I keep the PP folders cause they are the most compatible with p5_6

My library seems to have several identical files for several items I have acquired. Some say P4, P5 and PP. (thumbnails look identical...) I'm working with Poser 6 (Mac). Can I delete the files that seem to be duplicates of items apparently compatible with older versions of Poser? And, if so, which is the best version to keep for Poser 6?
