Geep's tuts are very easy to follow. You can learn a lot but there is no guarantee with any training or tutorial. I'm not very good at Poser but I'm ok at it. I enjoy it as stress relief and to just see what I can come up with. My mother (who can paint beautiful life like images with paint and paint brush) can't create a darned thing in Poser. She is really not good at it. I think with art, you just have to find what works for you. A tut can teach you how to use something but it will never produce excellent art. Poser just didn't come with a "make art" button though it would be nice if it did. I say try some of Geep's tuts out and see what you can do. (after all, Geep doesn't charge you anything!)

First, that is NOT (IMVHO) a "good" pic but then, opinions vary. ;=]
I would certainly hope that you will be able to produce pics much, much better than that ... with ... or without my tuts.

Are all of Dr. Geep's tuts on one site? What is the url? Just to be clear, I already know how to model a figure in a different package, and bring the model into Poser for boning. But where I'm having trouble specifically is that the modelwith contain a head. After boning the model, I'll import several OBJ. as morphs. But since the head is already attached to a bone, Poser tells me I can't create a morph because my .OBJ doesn't contain the same number of vertices. So the work around I will use is to model a figure with no head, bone the body, then bring a model head in as an .OBJ. Poser then labels the head as a "Prop," not one of the body parts. So then I have a Prop/head that morphs, and that works fine. But of course, figures created for Poser don't work this way. So I just wonder if there's a more elegant way of doing this... I want to be able to make a model with a head, import it into Poser, label the appropriate bone "head" and then bring in .OBJ's as morphs, just like the Figures that come in the Poser package. A very good book about creating Poser figures is "Secrets of Poser Figure creation" by B.L. Render. Not a beginners book, but if you want to learn all the ins and outs of morphs, bones, joint parameters, ERC, this is the book for you.

It sounds like you need to export the head from the desired Poser figure. Import it into your modeling program. Reshape it as desired (being extremely careful not to change the number of vertices). And then import it into poser as a morph target.

I like Poser 5's cartoon character "Edgar." I am interested in modeling, rigging and creating face morphs for orignal Poser characters, ones that would b "cartoony" like Edgar.
