Subject: Wardrobe Wizard and Smaller Figures

egaeus ( ) posted Wed, 06 July 2005 at 12:14 PM ยท edited Thu, 30 January 2025 at 11:49 PM

I have both Wardrobe Wizard and Clothes Converter, and I have been having trouble with the same issue with both of them. I am addressing WW here because it seems to be the easier of the two programs to use.

I can not seem to get larger clothes (i.e. Vicki 3, Michael) to scale down suitably to smaller figures like the Millenium Girls. The size difference seems to be so great that the reduction of the clothes almost utterly destroys the clothing. No amount of smoothing, inflating, deflating seems to work. The best I can usually get is some ragged version of the original model. I've gotten a couple of very simple clothes objects to come out all right (a wrap-around towel), but anything more complicated doesn't work well. I even tried scaling the Millenium Preteen up to a larger size, but got similar results.

Any suggestions/hints/tricks?

Mike

I have used WW to scale adult clothing down to the Mil kids without too much of a problem. Is seems to be better within the groups of figures pre unimesh and unimesh. Changing between the two groups doesn't seem to be so easy... I think because they have differently styled body parts/joints.

I've had no problems going from S3P to Laura, so the size issue might not be the problem.

I believe the trick is to scale the smaller figure roughly to the size of the clothing, do the conversion and rescale the figure to 100%

I had this problem and Phil told me I must have to smooth all quite a few times, which I tried on one object and it worked, the other one did not and I think that had to do with the above with the mesh and unimesh...unknown though. But the item I did, I smoothed 17 times and then inflated it once and it worked great. Sharen

On the yahoo group, there's a tutorial for scaling Laura up to V3's size, doing the conversion, then scaling Laura and the converted clothes down. Some people swear by this method. bB

Here's another question, then -- converting clothes for TenTen to Laura. For some reason, I can't make TenTen's breasts in the clothing go away. Mike

I tried to convert TenTen Mill Girl Miko outfit and the ISOP Kimono for Posette and also had this problem. For the ISOP, I created a new OBJ of kimono top to get around it, but surely there is a better way. bB

The latest SR fixes the 'smaller figure' problem. Try it now, see if you still have probs.
