Which one? There's six of them, lol. Besides, even one of them is a little too big for the forum. It's basically a brown leather, just tiled and made darker or lighter here and there. (Except for the body suit) AS

How did you map it to the mesh? UVmapper? What's V3 wearing? Can you give us a product credit?

The product is called "ArtemisX" by ElorOnceDark. The item already comes with textures. I just took each texture map into Photoshop, made a 'pattern' from a seamless leather image, made my selections ontop the exsisting texture maps, and filled in each selection with the leather pattern via the paint bucket-each on a seperate layer, then I just adjusted the brightness of each layer, making the different shades. Very little hand painting involved. I basically followed the patterns of the orange maps that come with the product. AS

I see, I see. Thanks, very informative. Did you render it in Poser or Bryce?

Thanks all. :o) Pics rendered in Bryce. I place noise in the backgrounds of the pics via Photoshop, other than that, they are straight renders. AS

At another forum I was listening to people complain that the texture set they purchased didn't look like the promo render, and it occurred to me that the texture sets you buy(or even do yourself) are really dependent partially on lighting....what does the texture look like under 'ordinary' lighting, less dramatic...=)

AS, looks great! But...isn't it a little rust-free compared to the usual texturing experiemnts :) Have you ever worn carbon fiber? It hurts....kind of like fiberglass but it's more of random pinch as carbon has fewer loose fibers, so rub it the wrong way and you get somw nice microscopic punctures. Ouchie.

Awesome textures! Do you do the uv mapping yourself too? I tried making a uv map for a model in 3dsmax, but I didn't understand a thing :S I never get them nicely unfolded uv maps I see on poser models and such.

Nah, the products either come with a texture template, or there is a download link for them. This time though, I just painted on top of an exsisting set of texture maps. AS

ah ok. hmm.. I wish there were programs made to automatically make userfriendly uv maps to any model you feed into them :-P I'm working on a nice sword, for a logo and I would love to uvmap the rope that will be tied around some of it, so I can give it a nice texture, but I have no idea how I'll be doing that :P

I LOVE to texture, and haven't had much time to really do any for the past month or more. This is some texure work I had made for a DAZ outfit called ArtemisX. (for the free Vicky 3.0) The plan was to use this with some other elements for a Renderosity contest, but my recent trip to Illinois, (which happened in the last week of the deadline), put the stops to all that. ;o( I'll still flesh out the sci-fi scene and post it into the ol' gallery, (I'll be finishing up the scene this week).
