Subject: "Ordinal not found" error

msebonyluv ( ) posted Sat, 24 September 2005 at 4:40 PM · edited Sat, 28 December 2024 at 4:58 PM

I just downloaded DAZ Studio 1.0 today and installed it. When I launched it, all I got was an "Ordinal not found" error. Error message says: The ordinal 11 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSOUND.dll. What is causing this error and how can it be fixed. I already put it in the bug tracker, but I thought I'd try to get a response here as well. TIA

Sounds like a DirectX error. On windows machines D|S uses DirectX to add sound to animations. Are you using the latest version of DirectX?

How would I be able to tell what version I'm using?

From the start menu click on "run" when the run dialog window appears type in "dxdiag" without the quotes the last line will tell you the version of directx you are using. Stew
