Okay, it took me almost two weeks, but I've finally uploaded the freebies about which I've posted before, along with a number of other things. I can't begin to express how sick I am of readme files. How I hate them! :)

All of the items pictured above (with the sole exception of the Barbara Gordon hair; I didn't want to her to be pictured bald...) have been added to or updated at my website at Kuroyume's.

Most of these items are characters, clothes, props, or hair for Vicky 1 or 2. I've posted these along with the customized Vicky 1 figure for which I created them, as people suggested when I inquired earlier. To allow these figures to be used with Vicky 1 or 2 "out of the box", however, I worked out a conversion system with Python and readScript-linked pose files. This means that file placement is important, and it may also be important to read the readme files. Sorry to make things complicated, but I wanted to find a way to distribute a dozen characters without posting a lot of redundant .cr2 files and increasing the download sizes.

So all of the characters are assembled by Python, as you watch. The character library launches a Python script "runner" figure (PoseWorks deserves credit for this method), which activates the appropriate script and loads all the proper figures, props and poses. I think it's a pretty neat system, but then I'm a bit odd. :) As I mentioned, though, it requires that files be placed as directed - or you could edit the scripts for new file locations. It also means that most of these files are only fully functional in Poser 5 or 6. Everything except the Python scripting and the materials settings should work in Poser 4/Poser Artist or Poser ProPack, although users will have to assemble characters by hand. The Python may or may not work in ProPack. I think they changed the function to conform clothing using Python.

I hope I haven't omitted any necessary files, but it's easy to get confused when dealing with so many uploads. If anyone encounters any file difficulties, please let me know. I've tried to cover most general questions in the "master readme", which is posted at the top of the linked page. I'll try to fix any problems as promptly as I can, but I can only get online at night, so bear with me if there are slight delays.

RTEncoder is required for some files.

A few highlights:

-The MultiHair is a six-in-one hair figure, which uses geom-insertion to change geometries as well as materials.

-The conforming/clothroom diaper for Vicky includes a Python conversion script which will load the P4 demon baby and fit the diaper to that horrid creature.

-The EasyPose Pigtails and ERCJP Wingset have been updated to allow ERC poses to be saved to the pose library.

-You get a free morph and texture to give Vicky a Cage Drei face. Eep! (Please bear in mind that Cage does not actually have bosoms. ;>)

-Hair is provided for all of the characters pictured.

-All of the conforming hair figures include a Point At "gravity" system.

-The Wonder Woman suit, "ABY" suit, and diaper are all brand-new meshes and all of them are combination clothroom garments and conformers.

-The Batgirl hair may be suitable for creating a poseable "mullet" hairstyle for your 80's hipster characters.

-The pictured "Barbara" head texture for Vicky is included.

-The "MultiVic" Vicky figure includes several character morphs for face and body, new face morphs for added expressions, and 50 face library entries. She is also set up with my current skin shader (which may or may not be up to current Rosity standards), ready to have body textures plugged in. Sadly, I do not have a body texture which I can include.

-All the hair is mapped to accept Studio Maya-style hair textures, in case mine are not up-to-snuff. (Regrettably, my hair geometries may not be up-to-snuff, either.... Like Vicky 1 herself, most of my creations are not intended for deep closeup rendering, and may actually adhere to the "lo-mesh" standard.)

-The Batgirl mask has many shaping morphs, which can be added with an included delta insertion pose.

-The poseable Teddy Bear has map-displaced fur.

-There's a slug!

Please let me know if you encounter any problems with these files.

Just a note: Vicky 2 is part of the current offer for Platinum Club members at DAZ 3D. If you're not a member, it would be best to check for yourself, but you may be able to get the goods if you join now.

hmmmmm... Poser can't seem to find: Runtime/Geometries/Cagedrei/Vicky/rBreast.obj or Runtime/Geometries/Cagedrei/Vicky/lBreast.obj This is after I've installed Multivic as well as all the superheroine & hair files. Any chance you could post these? Thanks so much, these characters look great!

My apologies about the missing files. The body handle geometries for MultiVic were not included in the zip file. Like I said, so many uploads seems to make it very likely that I will have goofed somewhere.... The file should actually work without the bodyhandle geometries, if Poser will still load the files, even though it couldn't find some things. I also corrected a file path for MultiVic and corrected a couple of order-of-events issues which led to bad ERC handling on the script-loaded BG suit. I'm currently uploading updates. I'll post a notice in an hour or two, once I'm done. Slow dialup connection, unfortunately.... Thanks for the comments, everyone. I hope at least some of these things are useful, and not too buggy.... :)

I'm having some problems with ftp tonight, it seems. So here is a stopgap solution for the missing geometries. They are actually very small .obj files. I will post them as .txt attachments to this message and the next.

The following zip files were updated: Batgirl.zip - edited Python scripts to fix JCM pointer pose use. Batgirl_hair.zip - Added a pose file for the hair. Batgirl_suit.zip - Added a morph to the suit neck to keep geometries from poking through with some poses. Catwoman.zip - Edited Python scripts to fix JCM pointer pose use. MultiVic.zip - Added missing body handle geometries. Fixed bad filepath for blMilWom.obj. Kuroyume, my gracious web host, has informed me that there should be no bandwidth concerns, so all is well. Please let me know if any other issues crop up.

Acadia: Save it as .txt (this is what .obj files basically are) and change the name and extension to proper ones :-) Or redownload MultiVic.zip - I assume that those .obj's are "missing body handles geometries" added to the archive. No, I do not have V2 (and I'd like to have her, sigh) but I did grabbed all the hair files (I can always try to put them on other figures as props :D ) and teddy bear and the slug. Some things are not really working, i. e. EWDG_gloves.rte, what is the sourcefile? P4 Woman catsuit, I get an error that the file doesn't match? Plese specify the needed files for Decoding otherwise everybody is searching around. BTW, the only files I could successfully decode were the boots.

The body handle geometries (posted above as text attachments) are now included in the MultiVic.zip. You do not need to download the text attachments, unless you've already downloaded the 3+ MB MultiVic.zip and want a faster alternative. I posted the textfiles because it was beginning to look like I might not be able to get everything uploaded last night, due to ftp problems. I did manage to get things uploaded, and the zips I listed are the ones which people may need to update. It is not good that the decoding is not working. I tested it on my system, but I suppose that is not necessarily inidicative that there aren't problems. The source files for each of the RTEncoded objects are listed in the readme's which ship with those objects. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the EWDG suit (from it's own invidividual readme, included in EWDG.zip) Decoding and placement: 1) Decode EWDG_gloves.rte using :Runtime:Geometries:P4NudeWoman:P4NudeWom.obj This will create EWDG.zip 2) Uncompress the EWDG.zip and place the resulting folder :Runtime:Geometries:Cagedrei:gloves:EWDG:(contents). If more than one folder named EWDG is produced when you unzip EWDG.zip, be sure that you only place the innermost folder inside Cagedrei:gloves. 3) Decode left_boot.rte using :Runtime:Geometries:Poser4Clothes:Shoes:wBootL.obj This will create P4_lboot.obj 4) Decode right_boot.rte using :Runtime:Geometries:Poser4Clothes:Shoes:wBootR.obj This will create P4_rboot.obj 5) Place both boot .obj files in :Runtime:Geometries:Cagedrei:boots -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the BG suit (Again, from the readme included in the Batgirl_suit.zip) Because this figure is derived from multiple geometries, its parts are double-encoded. Decoding and placement: 1) Decode BGsuit2.rte using :Runtime:Geometries:Poser4Clothes:Suits:blcatsuit.obj This will create the BGsuit1.rte 2) Decode BGsuit1.rte using :Runtime:Geometries:P4NudeWoman:P4NudeWom.obj This will create the MilBG_catsuit1.obj 3) Place MilBG_catsuit.obj in :Runtime:Geometries:Cagedrei:heroines:Batgirl 4) Decode Catwoman:suit2.rte using :Runtime:Geometries:Poser4Clothes:Suits:blcatsuit.obj This will create suit1.rte 5) Decode suit1.rte using :Runtime:Geometries:P4NudeWoman:P4NudeWom.obj This will create suit.zip 6) Uncompress the zipfile and place the contents in :Runtime:Geometries:Cagedrei:heroines:Catwoman:suit. If the file unzips with more than one folder named "suit", be sure to include only one in the final destination. Folder "suit" should contain subfolder "claws" and three .obj files, lForeArm, neck, and rForeArm. Clear as mud, right? If problems persist, I guess I may be able to go back to the old single encodement, using Objaction Mover. If you own either one of the source OBJ files, you must own a copy of Poser and should therefor own both source files. Multi-encodement may not be necessary. Does that help? Has anyone else had trouble with decoding? Do I need to change the method used? Please inform me. I'll do whatever needs to be done.... Again, sorry for the trouble. I guess this is the "alpha" version of the CagePage, and you kind folks are stuck doing my de-bugging for me. I really do apologize for that. I don't seem to be very good at packing things for upload.

Regarding the RTE decoding problems. I have tested decoding all of the .rte files, following the instructions I posted above. I had no problems. If the instructions are unclear, I'll try to clarify. I know "it works for me" is a pretty crummy answer. :( The only problem I had was when I accidentally clicked on a file, rather than a folder, while browsing with RTE for the save destination. RTE saved as the wrong file name and type as a result of my error. I re-named the incorrectly named file to the correct form, however, and the decoded object still worked. As far as I can tell, the process should work as long as my instructions aren't bad and I'm using the same version of RTE as everyone else. I believe there has only been one version of RTE, so my instructions may be at fault. Another possibility that might explain decoding problems would be complications due to the fact that I used source .obj files which had been compressed and decompressed using the Gzip Python scripts which ship with P5. This should not be a problem, but I can imagine the process somehow altering my .obj files enough to disrupt the RTE encryption methods. I tested this using old backup .obj source files, which had never been altered from their installation form. These .obj files worked properly with RTE as well, so I am ruling out any .obj formatting issues. As I said, any problem is probably due to the fact that I am not very good at explaining things. I will be happy to try to explain things more clearly. I added the decoding instructions posted above to the "master readme", so it is there as well as in the individual download readme files. Some confusion could result from the fact that the downloaded EWDG.zip contains a file which will be decoded into a second EWDG.zip, which contains the glove parts. These should not be confused. I may upload a revised zip to rectify the naming issue. Please let me know if problems persist. Any specifics you can offer would help me try to understand how to fix the problem.
