Subject: Using the "Save As" tab

This seems like kind of a dumb question - but here goes anyway.
Let's say I load V3 into DS. Then I inject the head/body morphs. Then I would like to save it to the current directory, and be able to retrieve it as a "Pose" from the Poses directory in the future.
I attempted to do so using the "Save As" tab located at the bottem left sector of the screen.
When I saved the item - I don't believe that I clicked the correct sequence of buttons. The file saved itself as a .DAZ|Script(binary) file.
I even tried to create a folder in the Libraries/Pose directory, and dragged the file into this folder. The folder shows up in the Pose directory, but won't open or seem to have an effect on the currently selected figure. What did I do this time? For your consideration - I thank you.

When you save the "Pose" (morph?), using the "Save As" option, to not get a binary file, use the drop-down menu on your "save" screen as a DAZ|Script Plain Text (dbs), and then, when you get to the Save Pose Presets Option popup, Choose "Save Current Frame Only" and "Save Morph Data". Hit accept, and you should be good to go. Saving it as a .dbs also gives you the ease of editing it in a text file if you feel comfortable enough to do so. Also, it's a good idea to save characters as a scene, just in case you do something wrong saving the morph poses. ;) I find that I mess up a lot and saving as a scene saves my neck, lol.

Thanks, I am trying it immediately. Yes - it is by the way, a morph, that I wish to save as a Pose (by pulling this up and saving time without adding all of the morphs in every instance that I need them) - and I believe that in the past I was used to saving items to the library in Poser 4/Pro Pack - and was trying to recreate this method in DAZ.

DAZ|Studio can't save to any Poser file formats, at least not yet. It has always been necessary to save to .ds/.dsb for presets and .daz for scenes. Not that a morph preset won't inject the morphs if you try to apply it to a character like Victoria 3 - in order to use it you need to have a version of V3 saved to a .daz scene with the morphs injected. Since D|S doesn't load the morphs until they are given a non-zero value you may as well inject all that you are likely to use and save the result, that way you don't need multiple versions of the figure saved.
