Subject: I need help with morph targets.

Okay, heres the thing, I understand how to load morph targets into my body parts in poser, but I don't know how to make them come in at the right sized obj. file to keep them from making the body part ridiculously huge when I use them. Can anyone help me on that?

When you create a morph target, you have to make sure that you don't make any other scaling changes to the OBJ file. You have to keep it at the original size, and also keep it in the original position. After that, the only vertices that you should move are those that you want to move when you use the morph dial.

Okay, so how do I keep the obj properly scaled if I want to build my morphs in Wings3D or something?

DCArt ( ) posted Fri, 02 December 2005 at 11:16 AM

I'm not familiar with wings. But generally there are a couple of ways to approach it: (1) Import the original OBJ file (the one in the Geometries folder) into Wings and work with that. DO NOT overwrite the original OBJ file when you save your morph. Save it to a different file name or different folder. (2) Make sure that your figure is in the Zero Position (no scaling, morphs, or other translations set) before you export the OBJ file or any body part from Poser. When you import into Wings, make sure that Wings does not automatically rescale it. I'm not familiar with Wings, but check to see if anything in the Import dialog, or the Export dialog relates to increasing or decreasing the size of the OBJ file. If it increases the scale when you import, you will have to decrease the scale appropriately when you export. In other words, if you scale the figure up by ten times when you import into Wings, you'll have to divide it by ten when you export it for Poser. Hope that makes sense.
