I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
You could try using my Roadmaker script. However, it can be difficult for beginners as well more experienced users. If you try it out and have any questions, I will to help you through this thread or through IM.
Roadmaker is a Paint Shop Pro 8.1 script and is available here:
http://tidbit.freefronthost.com/objects/index.htm
Also I have a couple of tutorials. This one is for Roadmaker:
http://tidbit.freefronthost.com/tutorials/roadmaker/
This is one is for Vue 4 users on mapping roads:
http://tidbit.freefronthost.com/tutorials/terrainmap/index.htm
Lastly, Roadmaker creates maps that you can easily texture with ecosystems. There are a few Roadmaker materials at the site with the maps already referenced. Charles

...or you could just get J Trout's Road Construction Kit and Mountain Road Kit and just LAY DOWN some ROAD!**** SEE Bottom of Freebies for the Road Kits. *****
-However, you will need Poser- as the roads, guard rails, etc. are all posable. I also use J Trout's Road Kits for making Railways (track not included).
Does the EULA of J Trout's Road Construction Kit and Mountain Road Kit allow commercial render? Love esther

so has anyone emailed him to see if personal use includes commercial renders, or do you just assume that it does? Love esther

estherau- If he says "not for commercial use" then you might consider this commercial Poser road prop in the REN Store...Attached Link: http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=24768
--Also here's some straight city road pieces. I have this set and it works pretty well (but not posable)...Attached Link: http://home.comcast.net/~sielkes/Freestuff.html
-also, scroll down to the bottom of Dudley's FREE car stuff and you will find a Street section and also some old style gas pumps! ...Waiting for Dudley's 1941 Chevy Pickup to show up at DAZ. Hopefully, NEXT WEEK!...Ok thanx for the help Bruno!
Veritas, something is not clear yet, what is this set exactly? A object? A material? Sorry maybe i'm a newbie, but i never buy extra stuff, i really want to create myself, so if i need a road i draw myself one. The problem is that i don't know how to place a road to a terrian and that the road is following the hights and low of the terrian. Thanx for your help!
Bruno, i will try the filter option soon,
Javil

Javil- If you have a Paint program (like Photoshop or whatever) it is very simple to just paint on top of a grey scale. To do this- create a terrain in Vue- COPY IT to the CLIP BOARD- PASTE IT into your paint program, and then select a grey color that will be your ROAD- and just paint in the road. If you use a large size terrain- like 1024x1024 or bigger- your scene will have more detail in Vue when you apply your plants, materials, etc. When finished painting in your road- copy it BACK to Vue (with the Terrain Editor open) and paste it (or load it back as a TIF file) and apply your materials. If you want tunnels, you can use a Boolean object to poke holes into your terrains... However, if you want more complex ecosystem layers you will need to create masks for each layer- (but I don't know if you have Vue 5 Infinite- so that might be going to far for you).

--And here's another simple tutorial on making a road in Vue...Oke! Thanks! Yes i have inf5, so i can do that, only i dont't know how to workk with mask's so that would be an other problem, but i know for now enough and i am going experiment some now. Thank you for your reply's, Javil

I also thought i'd give the greyscale thing a shot:- "If you have a Paint program (like Photoshop or whatever) it is very simple to just paint on top of a grey scale. To do this- create a terrain in Vue- COPY IT to the CLIP BOARD- PASTE IT into your paint program" Veritas - I tried selecting the terrain in the world browser and copying it, but nothing pastes into photoshop. i'm doing something wrong aren't I? love esther

in the terrain editor there's a copy button butthis also doesn't do anything.

I finished my work with my WIP road. You can view it at the link. I changed the textures from the WIP. For example, I used an image map for the road track texture. CharlesCharles
