Looking good! I like the lipsync! I wish Mimic worked with my program, Carrara. Good storyline your starting, some hidden facts to discover as we go through the series. As far as the 'warp' at the end... if this is along the same lines as star trek... then the ship should stretch as it goes into warp. And a little more build-up to the 'pre-warp' sound. Just my 2 cents... I like it and am looking forward to more installments here. :D
I had already seen that earlier today and it's available for everyone to see. I don't know but maybe mimic didn't work on every case. Sometimes the mouth and the phonemes don't match. Generally I like it. Very good work.

Hey, nice work! I like the lighting, and you did a great job with adding in some subtle movements. As mentioned, I would love to see some more "visual effects" to further dramatize the ship taking off into warp drive, and perhaps some tweaking of the lipsynching would be good. ;-)

Thanks! The background sounds are Trek sounds I got off the web--people post them everywhere. The voice(s) are/is my wife (I built a little mini recording "studio" to record voice.) The title song is "Aurora" by Veruca Salt, off the "Tank Girl" soundtrack--I'd actually named the ship first, then remembered the song, which seemed to work. --T
This is quite well done! I thought you did a nice job on the dialog/script. You created characters with distinct personalities and began laying out their history - a great start to the arc of the story. Your captain portrayed emotion through her facial expressions and your Vulcan was appropriately emotionless. Your wife did an excellent job of characterizing two unique voices - that helps alot. I will make only one suggestion: At the end, about 2/3 of the way through, the Vulcan bends over to look into the thing-a-ma-bob. You've bent her strictly at the hips - her body remains straight. If you're going for perfection, you might start the bend with her head - just a tiny movement forward - then her chest and so forth down her torso. You could also just start the bend with her abdomen and then follow that with her hips bending. I'm not standing in front of a mirror so I'm not sure exactly which order to recommend but the point is that the bend seems a lttle too stiff. You might also move her hips backwards a little as she bends. It looks like her center of gravity is forward of her feet, which would cause her to fall forward instead of stand. Or move one foot forward a bit to compensate for the center of gravity shift. This is being quite nit-picky, I know, but it would bring it one step closer to perfection, IHMO. It looks like it's going to be an interesting finished product. I hope the rest of your production goes smoothly - I'm quite interested to see how this turns out.

Are you up for some critique?
I think you're doing a very good job so far. The only problem I have is with the lip-synch. The timing is definitely off in some parts, and there needs to be more ancillary facial movement. You did a wonderful job with most of the primary movements, but your phonemes need to be tweeked manually for a more natural appearance. Also, as mentioned, the bending on that dark-haired girl needs a lot of refinement.
It wouldn't hurt to add some motion blur, especially at the end, where the ship is accelerating into warp.
I like the POV in the opening shot.

This is an update of a WIP animation I had posted on the Animation Outlet. These are DAZ figures using Mimic for the lip sync, Poser 5 for the animation, and Cinema 4D for the Rendering. It's the opening scene of a 50+ minute animation "episode." Comments welcome! --T
