. . . **what is in your CAMERA BAG!** A tip of the hat to Richard (Onslow) for giving me the idea. Your fame increases every day my MAS friend! ;] *"Now that would make an interesting separate thread - what do you have in your camera bag :D"* So, here is what I normally tote around in my current camera bag, aside from cell phone and wallet which I usually slip in there as well. 1) Camera (duh) 2) USB cable (my preferred method for downloading photos) 3) AC power adaptor (useful when working in the 'studio') 4) Filter container for circular polarizer 5) Pens (you can never have too many) 6) Spare battery (a must) 7) Tripod mount 8) Lens cap 9) Spare CF card 10) Mini-tripod for macro work (or whatever) 11) Remote for shutter release (for dashing self-portraits) 12) Spare change (for bribes) 13) Spare Xd card (if memory fails...) 14) All-purpose tool (thanks McGuyver) 15) Lens cloth (National Geographic version for added cool factor) 16) Chapstick (moist lips a must!) 17) A vote for Pedro window sign (don't ask) No, the keyboard doesn't fit. ;] So, that's what I haul around with me. What do you guys have in yours???

I was going to ask why you carry around a keyboard, lol. And I agree, moist lips ARE an absolute must!We all know how many shots have been ruined by camera-shake whilst licking one's lips! I see Christa and I think alike. Is it just me,or is RR getting all pokey again? It WAS better for a while...

Nikki, yes show me/us what you have in your bag. That goes for you others too. No holding back now! ;] Marlene and Christa...I should have known you'd try to be wise@sses, hahah. LOL @ Marlene's comment about camera shake and lip-licking. I haven't noticed it getting any slower than normal. At times it takes a while to connect and other times it is quite fast. In other worlds...normal. 8]

LOL @ Nikki!Never give a bag to a woman, indeed!I deliberately keep mine small for just that reason. If my bag is too big, things will go in it that will never be seen again, lol. I don't have anything too exciting in my camera bag equipment-wise.I didn't need much for the coolpix, and I'm transitionally using my hubby's new cam so there's not much in the way of extras there, either. An extra lens,a lens cloth, manual, spare cards and battery...and that's it.Not really photo-worthy stuff.Sorry! But I'm sure some of the big boys here will be happy to show you all their accoutrement!

Okay, here ya go Kortalouche.Try not to pant too loudly, lol. I think it's pretty obvious what I've got here. That's my Coolpix that I got for Mother's day to replace my quirky Minolta Dimage. The Sigma lens goes to my hubby's new Canon 10D.I'm using it to take the pic.He got a deal on it that was to good to pass up...sooo,I should have a 20D in my hot little hands real soon.Gotta love that 'guilt-factor',lol. Contents:I have no idea what those cords are for.But I carry them with me anyway, lol. It's like the keys on your keychain that you have no idea what they go to.You keep them anyway, just in case.I know. It's nuts...Gotta have 'wet ones'...you never know when you'll get your hands dirty...and the ponytail holder is to stop my hair from blowing all over on windy days...The matches are,I'm sorry to say,for the occasional cigarette...no lectures please.LOL. And,my beloved iPod...I don't go anywhere without it,either. **I left out all my SLR stuff, since I haven't used it in ages. But I have plenty of goodies for it.** And that's it.You may all go and wipe your chins now.LOL. ;^)

OK I'm back here it is. I don't carry all these things with me all the time. I usually know what I am going out to photograph and take along what I need some is here or there could be other things I take too. The most important omission from the pic is of course sandwich's, drink & sweets essential for any day out :) I take most stuff when I want to take landscapes as they seem to need the most gear and the least when I go out in the city when I will take just the camera in that little grey case on my belt with a spare battery and card. So here: Tripod, Remote, Close-up lens, Telephoto lens, Lens hood, String[essential for tying things back], Tape[same], Torch[useful], Bean Bag[homemade], Notebook/pen/pencil, Lens wipes, Memory cards, Batteries, Bin Liner[essential for kneeling or sitting on], Plastic bags[keep camera dry], Tissues, Filters, Sq Filters & holder.

But okay.Nothing wrong with a litle kvetching if it makes you feel better. @Richard...Love the idea of the bean bag and the thingy to kneel on.I just read you can use string to make a makeshift 'tripod'...although I can't wrap my brain around that one.I thought that was why you had the string...But what on earth is the torch for?

Yes torch=flashlight in American so just handy to see in dark with or look down holes, etc. LOL

Surprised with all the birdie photographers about no one has got bird seed/food in their bag ? No honey for insects ? Water spray for that fresh dew look on flowers ?

Someone besides me must cheat surely ?

OK here goes! :)

I don't take all of this with me, usually if I am shooting digital I have the D70, The E8700, a spare battery for each, two 512mb cf cards, and 1gb cf card. The remote for the D70, the SB600 and spare batteries for it. Oh yeah and the silica packets can be found in each camera bag, keeps things from getting damp! :)

If I am shooting film, I take the Canon AE1 or the Minolta 3xi, and a few lenses, lens cleaning kit, spare batteries and a few rolls of film (not shown). Of course the tripod is always in the car if I need it, along with an extra tripod mount. And then of course Austin will bring the T50 and the Sure Shot to shoot with, sometimes he has the 8700 too. :)

Pictured here:

Manon Tripod, Promaster Tripod, 2 Lowepro bags, 1 Generic bag, Lighter, Silica packets, 1 spare battery D70, 1 Spare Battery E8700, Nikon Wide Angle lens for 8700,Various Zoom and Macro lenses for film cams, Canon FTBn, Canon T50, Minolta 3xi, Canon Sure Shot, Nikon D70, Nikkor 70-300mm, Nikon E8700, Sony Mavica FD100, Fuji Fine Pix S3000 (missing from this image),2 512mb CF cards 1gb cf card, Cokin Filters (2), Cokin Filter adapter, Quantaray screw on Filter, Nikon SB600 Flash, Nikon remote, Spare AA batteries for flash, Lens cleaning kit, Lens hood, Lens cap, Camera body cap, SLR shutter release leash
and 50 business cards...
