One way to overcome this problem is to make two separate renders, transfer the finished images into Photoshop or another paint programme, have 2 layers (one for each render) and change the opacity of one (or the other) until you get something you like. just a thought. Not tried in Bryce as i havent come across the action to use. Sorry Marc.
Smile, your dead a long time :)

Sorry, only now I see that you'll need Photoshop or PaintShop Pro to do it. It talks about DEMs, but you can do the same thing with your own terrain if you just export image of your terrain from Terrain Editor. Just remember that the resolution of the terrain will be the size of the image - resolution 512 will give you an image of 512 x 512 pixels.-- erlik

Checkout the A+B+C blend in post #4,5 and #6 of the above short tut. Save both youre A and B textures in the Textures library and create your own Alpha texture for the C or "D" component.Message edited on: 01/21/2006 20:15

I,m trying to make some scrub covered limestone coastal cliffs. I have been able to get the look I want but not all as one mat. Pics A&B are what I have and Pic C is the effect I,m trying to achieve. I really like the scrubby bush part of pic A and the rocky cliff part of pic B,but I have been unable to combine the two. what am I not doing right ??????Cheers
