I want one of the hellpuppies from Crematoria. They were adorable. Give me about an hour on the goggles. You want a morph to pull them up onto Mike's forehead, also?

cedarwolf ( ) posted Sat, 12 June 2004 at 12:56 PM

Oohhh, yeah...that'd be loverly...can I have a set too? Pleeezee?

wolf359 ( ) posted Sat, 12 June 2004 at 1:14 PM

Yes Please thank you LD!! I loved the movie :-) and you could like use the "hell hound" from DAZ with displacement mapping in poser5 for the cool "Lava Dogs"

not free but you can check out the outlander pack by DAZ

semidieu ( ) posted Sat, 12 June 2004 at 2:09 PM

In the free stuff by RDNA, there is an "Adventurer Gear"... with something like the goggles...

Running a bit behind, but I've got the basic shape of the main section roughed out. After I pop in some lenses, I just need to finish the ends, build an elastic strap (I hate straps), optimize the mesh for Poser, then fit it to Mike.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Sat, 12 June 2004 at 2:16 PM

Here are some nice reference pics at a site where you can buy a replica for about $59.

There are also some goggles in one of the props packs on RDNA, I downloaded it yesterday. They're together with some hats and (pith)helmets

Fitting them to Michael now. Here's how they looked in Poser, sans straps. I probably need to reduce the highlights on the rings a bit.

[MilkShape 3D v1.7.0](http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/).

Still have to adjust the strap ends a bit, but almost finished.

I wounder if the Riddick goggles are the same small goggles welders use?

Just saw the movie a couple of hours ago. I like it.

the "dog" things look like DAZ's Gargoyle Hound with scales kinda like a pangolin (closest thing i could find)

Wolf: looks good. but his eyes dont light up his face :) just a cloudy glow.

Little dragon: looking good, when he has them over his eyes, they fit really snug (closer than you have them).

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Sat, 12 June 2004 at 9:41 PM

I tweaked them some more, but that's about as snug as I'm going to make them.

Packaging the goggles now. It might interest you to know that I've built them as a conforming, posable figure. In other words, you don't need morphs to pull them up onto Riddick's forehead ... simply use the Bend dial. It's UV-mapped, and I'm including a texture. I'd recommend some sort of scene-appropriate reflection map for the lenses.

Riddick01.gif

Thanks for the offer to host, but I think the .zip will be small enough to post over at PoserPros. If the .zip exceeds 512KB, however, I might take you up on your offer.

I'd normally upload them here to Free Stuff, also, but the PTB haven't repaired my File Locker yet.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Sat, 12 June 2004 at 10:34 PM

All right, they're available now.

Thank you.

I should add that due to the mesh optimizations, they look particularly nice in Poser's cartoon-with-lines display mode.

Anyone planning to see Dark Fury, the animated Riddick prequel due out on June 15th?

wolf359 ( ) posted Sat, 12 June 2004 at 11:16 PM

Thanks LD, Got them already!!! the Animated prequel is done by the great Peter Chung ( Of Aeon Flux Fame) its a straight to DVD realease I'll be sure to get. thanks again bro!!

I don't have Michael 1 or 2 just 3. So I jumped in the P5 FaceRoom and whipped out a test run of Vin Diesel as Riddick using Don Hi-Res character and textures as a base. How do I turn the cr2 file and resulting .obj file into a MOR file? Saving the character created a separate obj file for, so MPE doesn't work, and Injection Builder doesn't work for Don. Should I just over with M3 so I have better morph control's because Don's Morphs won't let me widen the bridge of his nose correctly or soften his brows enough?

Forget Don!! He is as useless as Dork for creating specific people.. Here is the great Mike2 as "Riddick" with Little Dragons awesome free conforming goggles

Thank you Little Dragon. At PP you said there were two films, I didn't know that. Is the second one Chronicles of Riddick, or were you referring to something else? Anyways I've got to see the other film 'cos I just love PItch Black. 8) Catlin

Yes, the second one is Chronicles of Riddick, which debuted in theaters last week. They're planning to do a trilogy, although I don't know if Pitch Black will count as part one of the three.

And as wolf359 pointed out, the animated prequel, Dark Fury, will be released on DVD later this week.

Also, there's an video game prequel called Escape from Butcher Bay, available only for X-Box.

d-larsen, More morphs for Don are coming! The morph for between the eyebrows is on my list for Deecey, but even without it, I'm getting a nice range of faces. Some pics here.... Carolly
