Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
Actually, the mid line looks a bit thicker than the rest, indicating that it's not welded properly, perhaps from the modeling program. Try importing the obj into Poser with "Weld Vertices" checked... Thing is, I can't remember if that'll kill your grouping. You could also select the offending vertices with Poser's Grouping Tool and use the Weld there.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

bazze you need to seperate the two collar groups and the neck with a column of "Chest" group vertices. Poser has a "quirk" that won't allow the type of arrangement you show in your last picture. You can FORCE it by hacking the CR2 file but if you look a a typical pose figure you'll see the way typical chest groups are set up. P.S. This is also the reason there are problems with skirts in Poser. mike
No that's perfectly natural. They can't weld because you have to divide them with a T-shaped piece of the chest. As it is grouped now, it will never work, it can't weld like this. The chest part should go up to the neck and only chest should be connected to the neck, with the shoulders each connected to that bit of chest that divides them :o)

It is not entirely a quirk, is more like the technical way of linking parts in Poser. A given group of a figure can only be in touch with two connecting parts at a time, the preciding and the next, so the lShoulder in this figure (very nice BTW) is in touch with more than one (actually like four) That's why it is breaking in the neck and the rShoulder which are the two extra groups. Hope this helps

Hi all,
Im working on this character that I will make available for free download as soon as I finish it. As you see I have run into some problems when rigging it in poser.
The 1st image is a render of the unrigged character. The 2nd image shows the hierarchy and the figure in action.
I have connected the neck, right and left collars to the chest (as instructed on the DAZ site) but the mesh breaks up in those areas. How can I weld these areas?
Thanks!
