Subject: looping a poser walk in Carrara....

importing low rez versions of animated poser characters in to carrara works (lots of background people are needed)....now i need to loop their walking..... so far as far a i can tell, i have to do the complete walk cycle in poser (which can be up to 12 seconds x 20fps....) isnt there a more sophisticated way?

umm..not that i know of, maby someone smarter than i knows... Are you using carrara 5 or 5 Pro? cuse in pro their might be a real good way using the graphs, but ive never realy played around with that.

Hi, I'm not sure how detailed you are trying to make the walk, but if it is just one foot after the other, arm swing, head bob, hips tilt, then just either: Import just two steps and loop it in Carrara - shouldn't be 12 seconds for two steps. Or, import the poser figure with bones but no animation, make your own 2 step walk, and loop. Good luck, hope this helps. R

i need very little detail.....is there a "looping mechanism" in carrara...something automatic. as opposed to repeating the walking motion on the timeline every second? havent go to the "bones" aspect of poser....(still the beginner)

not sure about looping, but I do know you can select the key frames for your two step walk and repeat them as many times as you need. I do know of some repeated functions for swinging, spinning, etc. - check it out in browser, motion.. maybe. R
