Subject: Spring Haiku?

TheAlex ( ) posted Tue, 14 March 2006 at 3:35 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 3:46 PM

The same rules as before, a 5-7-5 syllable count including something to do with Spring and the following Haiku starting on the last word of the previous one. Did anyone archive the previous threads? I didn't with the Winter one and all the posts seem to have disappeared... :| Suppose I have to start then! --- The seeds March upwards towards the sunny Spring skies. New life will blossom. ---

midrael ( ) posted Tue, 14 March 2006 at 3:42 PM

Wow, that haiku was even a real haiku with all the mentions of the season! ;) Good idea! Nothing better than a spring haiku! Let's see... Please listen clearly For the ides are approaching Beware betrayal!

TheAlex ( ) posted Tue, 14 March 2006 at 3:50 PM

Just incase you don't receive your IM (I hardly ever notice them), your Haiku should have started with the word 'blossom'. Re-read my post and it should make sense, I aren't the greatest at explaining things...

midrael ( ) posted Tue, 14 March 2006 at 4:08 PM

Oh woops.. LOL I was the one that started the previous haiku challenge too. I should have known better. Ahem.. let me try that again! Blossom now springing From what once seemed dead and lost Renew the season

Wolfspirit ( ) posted Wed, 15 March 2006 at 12:27 AM

New to this, but I'll try, so here is a few. Blossom family fun Creativity pastel In dance drew springtime Blossom of spring comes Defeat the thorns of winter Light perfume so sweet

Thank you. Then I shall. :^) Perhaps you can answer a question for me?I have a short poem I've written, and I would welcome opinions/suggestions regarding it.Is that done here,in this forum? If so,does one post it as a new thread? I apologise for bringing up something OT here, but I didn't think my question worthy of starting a whole thread about it... Thank you again, for welcoming me and for your time. Marlene :^)

One small step for trees, One giant leap for sparrows. Well, their young at least. --- Hello Marlene, some people do post their writing in this forum. You could also try the Writing Gallery and ask for feedback there.

Margana ( ) posted Tue, 28 March 2006 at 10:45 AM

Thanks TheAlex.I would think the writer's gallery was more for finished pieces...so it helps to know that there are those who also post WIPs. Least?Hmmm.... Least of all the bee Awakes and shakes the slumber From his frozen wings.

Oh okay...It's the syllables...you have to count the 'beats' in the line. It's not the number of words. I'm sure you can do it,the lines you submitted so far are lovely... :^)

So gentle,so sweet.

Actually I like this as the last line...

And plays with my hair.

But it seemed less spring-like,lol.And 'hair' would certainly be a strange beginning word for the next one! ;^)
