Thanks.. I found a couple of really good giraffe photos and UV mapped them in there with blender. I had to piece in a few spots.. but it turned out pretty good.

If you have photoshop (or something comparable) you might want to use the clone brush or something to fix those seams, but like I said in your image it looks great :) I've been having lots of trouble with bones myself, especially getting IK to work the way I want to, so kudos for your efforts (and apparent success)!
Yes very nice giraffe Reddog9, thanks for the tip I was looking for that feature not long ago and could not find it. Nothing more annoying then your character's leg bending backwards.
And you are very right on the new automatic IK feature it is a blessing. Setting it up the old way was a pain in the _ _ _ _.
What I am really impressed with is your texturing, an area in which I am still learning. I would like to learn more about the 'cloning tool' that haloedrain mentioned.
Mmm... What I did with this one was.. found a nice side shot of a giraffe and used it as a blue print for my model. I also used the same photo for my texture map. I did it backwards from normal I guess.... I loaded the image into Blender.. and then UVmapped my model to the photo. I had to "cut and paste" on some of the front and back faces (ie the chest with the visible seem, also the face with turned out ok. )

I love the new automatic IK chain feature.. I tried to set it up myself in the previous version. I think I wasted a few hours messing around with it and I still couldn't figure it out.
This is a shot of a giraffe I'm working on.
