Subject: Morphs lock after save. Why?

fnog9 ( ) posted Sat, 17 June 2006 at 11:17 PM · edited Sat, 16 November 2024 at 3:46 AM

HELLO!

Sometimes, after I save a scene, head and prop morphs no longer work on the character in the saved scene.  Does anyone else experience this phenomenon?  Is there any way to make the morphs work again?

I've had this happen as well.

I hope someone has a solution!

Are you guys using P6?

Do you have "Use External Morphtargets" turned on? (they're on by default)

Have you moved the PZ3? or deleted/moved the corresponding .PMD file? That is likely the cause of your problems. The solution is to turn External Morphtargets OFF in the settings. They're likely to mess up a lot of other things anyway.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Sorry for the dumb question, but how do you turn off external morph targets?

Edit>Preferences>Misc Tab>External Morphs Checkbox!

If the .pmds are the problem as ernyoka1 has described above, I think you can get your V3 morphs back by re-injecting the morphs back into V3. Ie., the dial settings will then have something to affect.  The reason I'm not sure about this is because I turned off External Binaries quite awhile ago, so I haven't had to deal with this weirdness for a long time.

But fnog9, I'm afraid this solution wouldn't apply to your prop morphs.
