Any way to put Miki's head on V3's body? (In a way that doesn't render her "Fankensteinesque")

Inquiring minds want to know....

If you want to literally graft it on, then I expect that it would be a lengthy & involved process -- best done in a modeling program like Lightwave.  I've seen examples of this -- but it's frankly not a project that I'd care to tackle.  And I've never seen it done to "perfection".

Here's a lazy man's way (taking the route of least resistance) --

1.  Insert V3 into the scene.

2.  Insert Miki into the scene.

3.  Make V3's head invisible.

4.  Make everything on Miki invisible except for her head.

5.  Move Miki's head around until it "meshes" with V3's neck.

You might have a problem with getting the head & body textures to match up.  But you should be able to postwork out any lines, etc. between the head & the neck in the render.  I believe that such a method would be far less work than a literal graft........unless if you've got some special reason for wanting a frankenstein'ed figure.

I guess you could but it would be a lot of work getting polygons and all to match. And if you don't mind me asking, becuase Iknow some one will so I'm beating them to it, why would you want to put Miki's head on V3's body? I know that Miki's head has much more expression than V3's but is there more to it than that and is it worth the hassel?

Bing!

Miki's head has so much better expressive range - and that's what I'm after.

V3's face seems to "break" under expressions too easily.

To swap heads and bodies between DAZ unimesh figures you can use Kamilche's Shapeshifter script (PP and up).

jeffg, you might also contact Psychonaut; I believe he has conducted some (successful?) experiments along these lines, I think for precisely the reasons you've given.

You need to export the necks of both figure to a modeling progarm (Stahlratte uses Wings), cut them in half and then join the base of the neck of the host figure with the top of the neck of the head that you want to use.  If you email me at dph@013.net.il, I can give you his explicite direction on how he did this with his Evelyn and Valerie figures (he's given me permission to redistribute his instructions privately, but not to publish them on the web).  It's not the most complicated process in the world, but idt does require attention to details.

That's how I do it too. Create a new neck using the two fiures necks in a modeling app. I use to use Wings, now I use Hex. Both are pretty much the same in doing that.
