Here's a link to his home page here at Renderosity. You might want to ask him directly~Vivian
Fractals will always amaze me!
I have been able to get some of those straight angle things out of the kpk.ucl (KPK Squeezed Banana....set the 'squeeze angle' = 90). Possibly some of the other KPK ucls have some similar things. Also, if the fractal or ucl options has 'ceiling', 'floor', 'trunc' or 'round' at the end of a function option list, those settings tend to cut off the colorings at straight/right angle lines. Try, if you are using multiple layers, to use the difference settings between layers to get some effects.

This is the number one question I get asked. Most of those images use IFS-Barnsley+Jock III in jock.ufm. Some use tweaked barnsley formulas from eg kpk.ufm or tma2.ufm. To make it 3d you must combine the UF outputs with a 3d program like Bryce or Cinema 4D (which I use). There are ways to make it look 3d using pure UF but a true 3d package is much nicer IMHO.thank you for all your replies!
jock: I'm quite new to UF although I still have a copy Winfract or Fractint
that came of a 5 1/4" floppy attached in the back of a '92 book called "Fractals for Windows by the Waite Group.
I have attached my first UF fractal with post processing using Real Draw Pro v3.1
however its not really the direction I want to go in. As I stated on the outset
I would like to explore the type of material images which you filed under your
mechanical gallery.
I tried loading your formula into UF, see attached jpeg
but I didnt see anything but a black backround.
all I was able to do was change the backround with some .uxf files
Is it possible for you to attach a .upr file that I could learn from
or send it via email ?
thanks!

naturally you will need to play with the various parameters on the formula to get something interesting out of it. Here's an example:example {

thanks again! yes I understand about the playing around part.
I'm still struggling as try your text.
what exactly do I do with this your text now?
do I now copy and paste your text into the transformation dialog box?
or the reverse: what dialog box did you open that allowed you to copy
the text in your example above?
sorry about the hand holding i'm expecting of you.

Jock Coopers site http://www.fractal-recursions.com/ has some incredible beautiful content.
Does anyone know what software he would have used to make the images in the Mechanical Gallery?
TIA!
