Hello Folks, I am new to Poser so i hope i can find sum help here.
I got Poser 6 and started with it (works ok for me), but i have one huge problem i cant solve (sitting at it for 1 week now)

I am starting with the normal James Model. Now i wanted to change his Sweater against a Polo-Shirt. I tried several ways, but i cant get it to work (the polo shirt is inside the James Model only over the model). Can sumone tell me the steps i have to do to change the clothings??

much appreciated and thanx in advance

You need to conform the shirt to James (top menu, go to figure, then conform, then choose James) does that make sense to you? Don't worry, everyone here was new once too!

One more thing, thouhg... if you're referring to the james figure that comes up at the beginning - that's listed as JameCasual - it's a figure that comes pre-dressed, with all the items there combined as one figure. This means that you can't take off his sweater, for example, and replace it with something else.

So, what you will need to do first is this. Delete the figure that appears upon opening the program, and then go to the figures menu, and bring in a James figure (either regular or hi-res, depending on your preference). Then you can go to the props menu and begin to add clothing once more. In this way, you can change the clothing you put on him as well, changing one tiem for another.

Hope this helps,

jonthecelt.

In other works get rid of the guy with clothes on and load up the naked guy and then
put clothes on him.

Another small tip:

If you get fed up with having to delete James (or whoever) every time you start up Poser, do the following:

Start Poser.
Delete any figures.
Go to Menu->Edit->Preferences, select "Launch to Preferred State", then hit "Set Preferred State".

Close Poser.

Next time you open Poser you'll have a blank screen, ready for whatever you want to do.
Not only that, it'll load faster.
(Note re: "Load Faster". Poser always loads faster if you just close it then re-open it, 'cos it caches lots of stuff. I'm referring to a faster "virgin" load, after a re-boot of the PC.... No need to load a figure + textures...)

Cheers,
Diolma

EDIT:

Dr. Geep has a ton of tutorials at his site.  He does a periodic "Introduction to Poser" class, which unfortunately you just missed.  I'm sure he will probably be offering it again in the future.

Here is his site for the tutorials.  Keep checking back for new ones and to see if the Introduction class has been reposted at some future date.
