It's under the main tutorials in the Vue section.
I've started using a program called GeoControl, that does a far better job of creatinf terrain maps than the native generator in Vue. You can create, 3D preview and then save as a grayscale map that can be imported into Vue's terrain module. Their website is http://www.cajomi.de/GeoControl/geocontrol.htm and the have a free trial. Good luck.
I've done a few works trying to capture basalt formations, but the hex column formations (there are also other types) are beyond Vue -- or even GeoControl -- which I have.
I need to work more on this stuff a bit though.
Here is a photo of Palouse Falls I took -- it was raining at the time.

I want to create a landscape representative of Hells Canyon (Idaho/Oregon). I don't know if anyone is too familiar with that region, but there are patterns of horizontal rock formations cutting across the mountains, along with more random rocks jutting out of grassy slopes. I am new to vue, I am somewhat familiar with procedural terrains (I've done the cerro-verde tutorial). My question is what would be a good way to tackle this sort of terrain? Will I need to delve into the function editor? Basically, I'm looking for a few starting tips, not necessarily a full written tutorial. Here are some pictures showing some examples of what I'd like to create. As you can see, there are definite patterns in the formations of the mountains. Thanks to anyone who may be able to point me in the right direction.
