Looks nice. Don't have a Mac here (tho looking at the constant crap about the coming Vista release, I'm starting to wonder if I should just buy a Mac!).

The new Mac Pro looks mighty sweet! I would if I were you. :)

I use it every day. Its awesome! Some of my favorite features are.. Loupe, Stacks, Keywords, Locked masters, not worrying about accidentally deleting images etc... You need MAC OSX 10.4.8 to run aperture 1.5-- You also need the latest versions of iLife and iWork to take complete advantage of its import/export features. Buy it. You won't know how you survived without it.

Trust me, if I had the money I'd be all over that Mac Pro. It does look sweet!

I'd add the Mac and Apeture onto my Xmas list, but I think "Santa" would start laughing hysterically (at me, not with me).

I've seen people on DPreview.com write about buying a 24" iMac and Aperture. (thats a good combo)

One of the programmes us PC owners look on with envy it is a lot of money but worth it if you need to organise ones work.. I have been trying the trial version of Lightroom which I  like but again in two minds re the cost

It looks like Apple recently released Aperature 2.0, with the ability to use plug-ins. That might give it the edge over Lightroom, but time will tell. Perhaps it is time for me to upgrade and get that 24" iMac Dovid recommends. ;'] Dovid, how has your experience been? Have you upgraded to 2.0 yet? Nope, neither. I'm still working towards getting the latest and greatest iMac. I tried it (the 2.4GHz) out at my local Apple store and it was very fast compared to my current 2.0GHz17" ALS iMac. If you're gonna get an iMac then go for the 2.8 GHz one. The 2.4 uses a mobile processor while the 2.8 uses the powerful extreme one.

Mobile processor? Not quite up on my Mac stuff, can you elaborate? Still, you say the 2.4 was plenty fast, right? That 24" monitor is something else too, very classy.

Neat link, thanks. Still, not a bad time to pick one up. And I don't know if you'd notice much of a speed increase to warrant getting the 2.8.
