Subject: Kirwyn's V4 Freebies

Anniebel ( ) posted Mon, 18 December 2006 at 1:03 AM · edited Thu, 14 November 2024 at 10:56 AM

I was going to make some textures for Kirwyn freebies (camisole & pants/boots), but when I open the obj file in UVmapper it is blank. The material zones are listed, but when you select them there is nothing there.

Can anyone help - why is there no map?

Hurray I can answer something :) go to map .. then planar or try the other ones ... only found this out myself cause I had an obj that did the same thing to me Sheila

So how do you know which to pick, none of them look like a real texture map?

Thanks

Sorry about that Anniebel.  UV mapping is one of those things I find tedious and boring to do.  It requires alot of time to make a nice map all split up evenly with facets spread out so that a texture can be put on properly.  So I thought I could just forego this task and separate it into zones so one could just apply their textures/colors inside the material room.  Plus it helped to keep the file size down too.  I'm on dial-up and I have alot of sympathy for those in the same boat as me.  But if anyone decides they would like to UV map it and offer the new OBJ file to the community, it's quite alright with me.

I mapped out the cami and saved the templates into two parts if You need it.
