I rendered Vicky 4, character texture Pascale........great by the way, if you don't have her, you need her......lol..........she is here in the Market Place, but I noticed she has white lines on her shoulders. Would that be the lighting I am using, or something else? Any help appreciated. Click her to see larger image. :-) Thanks, Shirley

white line is on the texture to prevent seams and it looks like the white area is a couple of pixels too large, maybe...easiest way to find out would be to throw another v4 texture on her, keeping the same pose and lights and see if it goes away...if it does, it is the texture, if not...well, then its not, lol

Thank you for the suggestion, I will try that..............thanks! :-)

I haven't noticed this on Pascal but I have noticed it cropping up on the Domino outfit and it shows in our render too.

I will try her with another outfit, althought right now she doesn't have a closet full of clothes............ha ha...............

try hiding the clothes and render then you will know

looks like texture filtering.

if your in p5 or 6 turn it off in the render settings

if your in P7 you'll have to go into the material settings and turn it off (in each material zone)

i believe there is a python script around here somewhere to turn p7 texture filtering off in mass.

So I should turn off texture filtering, I am using Poser 6...........I also will try rendering her without clothes, and see if that does it.......thanks so much for the suggestions, I appreciate it!

Tyger_purr ( ) posted Sat, 30 December 2006 at 11:55 AM

yes, try without texture filtering.

it was a common problem in P6.

I haven't seen it happen in p7's texture filtering yet but i was trying to cover all the bases

Okay, tried it with the texture filtering unchecked, still the white lines, tried different lights, etc, still the white lines.........tried a different outfit, white lines, tried it with the Poser 4 render,  white lines still there but not as noticable.........sigh..........

Have you tried increasing the texture resolution in your render settings?
Sometimes that can help.

Quote - Have you tried increasing the texture resolution in your render settings?

There is no "Maximum texture size" setting in P7.
Due to the new texture paging code, this setting is no longer needed.

I know, but they're using Poser 6 , which is why I suggested it :)

rocker333 ( ) posted Sat, 30 December 2006 at 5:04 PM

Yes, tried that too. And all suggestions are appreciated, and you all have been great to give me tips and suggestions. :-) Thanks!

The easiest way to solve roblimatic seams such as this is to clamp the texture

In the material room there is a option under image_mapped:
off
tile
clamped
alpha

the clamped samples the colour from the edge and fills hte white.

No texture sold in our marketplace should have seams.
I have just downloaded this pack to check it and cannot reproduce the problem.
Can you give us a screenshot of your material settings please?

I will, but it will have to wait until tomorrow, I work nights, and have to leave shortly.......The maker of Pascale sent me the lights she used in the promo pics, so I will try and see if that helps. :-)

I've had this issue myself with the pascale tex .. tried clamping, tried turning tex filtering off, tried different lights all to no avail

Pic below has my own shaders on but I have the same issue with the no shaders default mat

Finally got time to Poser some......lol...........a pic of Pascale with the lights sent to me, and a pic of the material setting for her, I wasn't sure if this is what you wanted, but here it is. I am not too advanced in Poser material settings, and usually leave as is, unless I want to change the material or color on clothes......lol..........still the white line, but she is a beautiful character texture. :-) Blessings, Shirley

It's your render settings I'm specifically interested in, rocker. I have been unable to reproduce the problem with the white lines unless I turn on texture filtering. Try setting your render options to the same as in this pic, and see what happens?

Oh.......duh..............I will do that today and post it.............(embarrased) hee hee...........I do know that I turned off the texture filtering, as someone earlier suggested, and still the white line............
