Subject: Headlights?

I'm rcreating a pic that includes a motorbike, riding after dark.

I want to make it look as if the bike's headlight is casting a beam of light. I tried setting up a spotlight inside the headlight, but the light did not throw a beam.

Anyone got any ideas how this can be done in Poser 7?

Spotlight with the end of the light just ahead of the bikes headlight and use Volumetric light!

Here's a way to do it without using volumetric light, which can sometimes take a while to render. The top picture shows a resized cylinder primitive, rotated and positioned to simulate a lightbeam from the bike's light. The lower part of the picture shows the material room set-up for the lightbeam effect. You can vary the transparency and the colour for differing effects.

Yup .. i use the almost the same thing for laser beams .. and laser fire ...

Might I suggest a cone instead of a cylinder? Light spreads.

I used the cylinder only because it worked better than the cone would due to the point of the cone. However, I have since made a couple of conical tube variations, one that would be suitable for a torch for example, and one more suited to headlamps. Here's a small example pic to show them. It's a blended render and screencap.
