Feedback? Waitng till tomorrow probably since my home puter is slow

well I saw it up on Daz's site but I couldn't buy it yet. Its like teasing, hehehe personally I am after the upgrade version. Does anyone know when its going to be available to actually buy and not just look at?

It just went on-line but looks like there's some problems with the page. Hopefully they'll have the kinks worked out soon.

I tried to order it but it gave me a cost of $0.00 and no download link. Very strange.

I got the same thing, ookami. I guess we may have to wait until Monday to order. :( I think quite alot of people have had that problem. I got an order number, but no download link. Which is good since it didn't charge me, I guess! I didn't get a confirmation e-mail either. So I suppose they just haven't activated the order form yet because maybe she isn't quite finished.

It's not ready just yet, but will be by the time the news letter goes out.

I promise that we are not trying to tease anyone but we thought people would like to see how she is coming along so we posted the preview product page with the images. She is spending the weekend with the beta testers and hopefully if we get a thumbs up she will be available early next week. We really want to be sure that she is a solid product before she goes out. As far as development goes, she is finished. Please keep your fingers crossed, mine sure are. Sorry for the confusion. Yep, I tried to buy her too and was disappointed! Bought myself one of the hi-res texture maps to prepare for her arrival, though. It looks great - can't wait to try it.

I hope "early next week" means Tuesday, because that's when I get paid and I've got $29.95 earmarked for her already. :) She looks great, Daz! Looks like you've really outdone yourselves.

Daz3d, In the future it might be a good idea to treat a preview as just that a preview, on it's own page rather than as an unatainable item in the store. Seeing her in the store raised my expectations, only to have that excitment turn to frustration when i realised that she was not available. It left me with the feeling of betrayal, like I was promised something and it was instantly taken away. I believe you when you say you're intention was not to tease but, that is what it feels like. Daz has been doing a great job of listening to it's customers suggestions in the past and I hope you'll listen to this one. V2 is going to be an excellent product and I'll be one of the first to buy her. thanks otaku

Thanks everyone for your positive comments about Vicki 2. We do have intentions for doing the same with Michael in the near future. Before then we do have a few projects but we hope to get him going soon. Otaku, your comments are well taken. Our purpose in getting the product page set-up first was to eliminate one of the steps to making Vicki available. It takes a fair amount of time to put together such a detailed product page and it is usually that last step in the process. At this point, when the model is finished and the installer is made we can have her live in a few minutes rather than several hours. Atleast you now know the reasoning behind us doing this. What I want to know is why it's so much more expensive to get Victoria 2 when you already have Victoria 1. Yes, you guys put months of hard work into it, and for that we're all grateful, but why is it almost the same price as those who don't /have/ Victoria 1 are paying? If I had known you would be doing this with Michael too, I wouldn't have spent all that money buying him, just to have to spend another 40 just to upgrade him. Don't get me wrong. Michael is a wonderful figure, and so is Victoria. But why charge so much for just an upgrade, when the person already owns the mesh?

I'm curious my self. Does she still have, caved in thighs, 40 year old butt, puffy hips, hard abbs, pinched pubic bone, small head, and glued on breasts? :) :) :) Ok I'll quit but I'm hoping for the best.(I'm hoping for some shape in the legs.) The prev.s look good. Good things take time. :) :) :)

I was surprised by the prices too. I feel the upgrade price is fair given the hard work we've heard went into upgrading her. I just feel a little slighted by the fact that those who have waited to purchase are getting everything we purchased before plus the extras (that came about through many of our discoveries and suggestions) at the price we paid for the original. Why buy now when I know I can get it faster better and cheaper in a few months? It's a habbit of the tech field that is causing me to think twice about when I purchase. It's always happening when i bought my Imac Version 1a a few months later there was version 2 with all the improvement I was wishing were in mine and a few months later there was another. Same thing happened with Ibook. And on the software front I've started to put off upgrading as well I didn't get photoshop 5 or 5.5 I waited for 6, I skipped Illustrator 9 and I haven't gotten Poser Pro pack either just because I've heard poser 5 is coming. As a company be careful how often you upgrade or what you charge for those upgrades. Or before long you'll have the majority of your customers putting off buying version 1.0 of a product and waiting for version 1.5.

Ohh stop being so sarcastic! I am glad that Daz put out a Preview, it just makes me want to buy the model as soon as it is available. Don't get so frustrated just because you can't buy something now. Just be patient Daz will deliver like always. Secondly, its called the "Tech World", products are always becoming re-worked and upgraded. Tell it to Macromedia when they put out Flash every few months, people come to expect it. Victoria needed to be upgraded, Victoria has been around for quite awhile. So in my eyes, I got uses out of the model. $29.95 is a nice price. Thanks Daz, look forward to getting all your future Millennium models.

I wasn't complaining about the upgrade price, I said it was a price iwas willing to pay and fair for the work we heard went into it. what I was calling attention to was the fact that the "Tech World" is rewarding those who wait and as it is experiencing now by doing that there customer base begins to wait and they start to lose capital for R&D and the upgrades.Just because something is expected doesn't mean it will always work ask anyone in the computer industery who saw there industry growth waver recently. $30 is a fair price for the v2 upgrade but will I buy the next millenium model that comes out, when it comes out or will I wait for the upgrade, that I now will be the same price? Time will tell. I've already delaid my purchase of a titanium laptop from apple because of their frequent upgrade over the last couple years. I'm not trying to be pestimistic. I'm just expressing my opinion. The Tech industry is in it's infancyas far as dealing with consumers is concerned and those who will last in the long run are those that listen and adapt to their customers needs and emotions. Daz has shown that they are aware of this and the fact that danfarr read and responded to my earlier post proves it. I'm not attacking them only making suggestions on how the can serve their customer base in the future. The poser community has thrived on it's interaction between it's product makers and consumers and that's what makes it a unique success story. Anyone who has ever tried to contact the makers of Quark know what I'm talking about.

Pricing is definately the most difficult of things that we have experienced at DAZ3D. It is really hard to find the magic numbers that are fair to everyone involved. Our decision to sell Victoria 2.0 at $59.95 is based mainly on our desire to make her as affordable as possible while trying to make sure that we can get the return we need from our development investment. I can definately understand the frustration of paying a certain price for something then find a better version of it available for much less only a few months later. I just bought a laptop computer in February and it has already dropped $500. Our stategy in not raising the price of V2 above what Victoria 1 sold for is based on our desire to help make her more widely used and accepted by Poser users. This benefits everyone because the more people that use her, the more likely it will be for people to develop free and commercial aftermarket products for her. To this end we are also droping the price of Victoria 1.0 to $39.95 for those who don't want to spend the extra $ for V2. In theory it should work, hopefully it will work in reality. The more customers we have for Victoria, the easier it is for us to drop our prices for future developements. This is evident in the fact the Victoria 1.0 was introduced at $99.95 (full price). We lowered the price because demand was high enough that we expected to have even higher demand at a lower price point. With Victoria 2.0 we put in more development costs without raising her cost. Effectively, people are buying more work than we originally put into Victoria 1.0 for an upgrade price of $29.95 (introductory price). This is done in efforts to fulfill our commitment to try to lower prices as demand increases. Overall, I guess it comes down to personal needs and wants. I needed to have a laptop for a tradeshow that we were going to attend. I paid the price and got the benefit. If I would have waited for the price to drop then I would not have had it for the tradeshow. In the overall scope of things the Poser market is a very small market and we don't have a lot of room for pricing mistakes. Hopefully we have priced Victoria 2.0 correctly for this market. We at DAZ not only want to listen to our customers, we need to. If we don't, we will not succeed as a company. I hope that this has helped you all to see into our heads a little bit on this issue.
