Hi All,

We're just finishing up a new figure. Any suggestions on what you'd like to see. We've already built the White House and Oval Office.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Sydney for President

My suggestions for "W" would get me into trouble.
But everything else looks great!

I think the mimicifcation of this figure could prove problemical due to no one knowing what language Bush spechificates! ;) P.S. Great work!

Thanks for the feedback so far.

"I would suggest possibly figures of a few other presidents. maybe also Tony Blair and John Howard"

We have a couple of other non-U.S based world figures in the works. Not ready to talk about which ones exactly.

"Hey, Sydney looks a little like Hilary sitting behind that big desk."

Probably a coincidence ;) Hillary will be the next figure we release.

"Is "W" based off the G2 males?"

There is an option for compatibility with G2 Males to utilize the clothing. There will also be another option that is a unique character.

Here's a couple of more images from the series:

And the Brazil's current president, Lula. He is not a good president, but will be interesting to see him in Poser.

Neat idea. 3 questions.

  1. When will the figure be ready ?

  2. Will there be any restrictions like with Daz's Anne Marie Goddard figure ?
I ask because something like this could be used, for example poltical humour that some folks may not like very much (waves and agrees with Seatletim).

  3. How much we talking here ?

OK 4 :)

No, ther will be no restrictions. Bush is a public figure and, as such, ge is fair game for likenesses, etc. Once he's out of office, it will be another story tho, becasue he will return toi being a private citizen. Bill clinton might be a problem because he is a private citizen. Hillary, however, being a senator, is a public figure. Same with Blair and Howard (prime ministers of, respectively, the UK and Australia) and any other currently serving world leaders.
As much as I'd like to see a Vicente Fox figure, that might not be possible as he is no longer president of Mexico and is back to private citizen status.
Any dead presidents are also fair game as the private citizen laws only cover the living.
As for the political humor, that woyld be covered by the constitution so the fact that people didn't like it would be irrelevant (every president without exception, from washington on up, has been subjected to it ).

an example of early political humour is this statement I found in an 1802 newspaper that I had in a collection of old newspapers when I was a teenager: An elephant had died in a zoo recently and they commented on it by saying "The late elephant reminds us of the federalists in that it carried great weight but was of little use in the community"
That same paper had a leter to the editor berating Jefferson as "the worst president this republic has seen" (which wasn't really saying much as there had only been 2 other presidents to compare him with).

I don't really like him either, but I support him because the majority of American Muslims voted for him, so I support him partly as a show of solidarity with my fellow Muslims, but also to show that I appreciate the fact that American Muslims have finally started working with the system instead of complaining about it, so I choose to respect their choice as a way of encouraging this new trend in western Islam.

In view of some of the charming epithets being hurled at President Bush in this thread, I'm reminded of the somewhat similar terms of endearment that were used in regard to President Lincoln in his day.  Among others, there was 'Scarecrow', 'Babboon' was a favorite, and of curse 'Hairy Ape.'  Not all of these terms of abuse were employed by southerners either.

The renders are done with the newly released Business Clothing at Content Paradise and the G2 Male compatible version. There is a new texture set coming called White House Wardrobe that was used for GW's clothing.

Steve Bell not related to Art Bell is he???????? For me I'm neither this left wing or right wing crap just a plain ol American wanting his elected officials to do the jobs WE elected them to do. IF they have a hard time doing that task then they need to go. Nuff said. If Americans can't ask for that then we no longer need a Constitution or a B of R cause that means Americans don't know how to use them. Freedom is more then what cell phone service plan you can choose from and the right to vote mean more than voting in a popularity contest or who looks good. I think that has gone on long enough.

Also I plan to purchase the figure and dress him in drag. I'll be transferring the morphs from this figure onto the latest Batlab Goth Dominatrix outfit.

I also heard a rumour that anyone knowingly using this figure in any disrespectful way would have to answer to the Fox News security forces which will be unleashed by Bill O'Reilly, is it true?

Art Bell is a superb icon for the current era.

IIRC, he's now semi-retired from his old talk radio show -- although I seem to remember hearing that he still pops in from time to time.

Art Bell is a great advocate of matters such as UFO's and conspiracy theories.  Very appropriate material to a thread like this one -- in view of some of the opinions being offered (hinted at?) here.

Here's a link to the website of his old radio show.  Some other guy is hosting it now.  I highly recommend that show to all Bush bashers.  They'll find kindred spirits calling in there on a regular basis.

and before flames erupt, can i suggest we not talk politics?  no one's going to win because people already pretty much believe what they're going to believe. no forum post is going to change that.   i think it's probably better to focus on what we have in common (like what we create) rather than what we don't.

if we're going to argue, let it at least be about something related to why we're here.

This thread is just wrong for a couple of reasons. 1) This thread, as entertaining as it may be, is purely a commercial advertisement. This point has been brought up by several of Renderosity's guests - and ignored by the moderators (one of which has taken part). Further, Renderosity stands to make no $$$ on this product. So, why has this topic not been moved to an appropriate forum? 2) A respected forum moderator posts multiple times in this thread with potentially incendiary religious and political comments (again, humorous as they might be). Perhaps I misunderstand, but I've typically seen mods trying to keep discussions from getting too political or religious. Has there been a change that now allows commercial advertising directly from the vendor in the midst of an informational forum? I'm not wanting to dog anyone, but, either the TOS is to be taken serious or it snot. I can understand the original poster might be new to R'osity and not aware of the TOS he/she agreed to. But for a moderator...? Hmm, maybe its the buddy system or something.

drifterlee ( ) posted Fri, 09 February 2007 at 1:41 PM

No, it's everyone is so sick of George W, the war, the poor state of our US economy etc. that people are ignoring it. Mods or not.

deljs ( ) posted Fri, 09 February 2007 at 1:59 PM

Well, as an American, I share the sentiment. I am appalled and deeply ashamed of our rogue president. In fact, I can think of no person I despise so intensely! Nevertheless, this product is not free. Hatred of any individual, public or not, doesn't seem to be a valid reason for selectively enforcing/not enforcing the TOS. It makes a mockery of the title Forum Moderator. Anyway, its not my site. When I've had enough paid programming, I shut off the TV. Same holds true here.
