Subject: Bryce `s export mat help needed!!!

**HI all,             Hope everyone is fine...I am back after a logtime..Wish  you all a very Happy & prosperous new year .             Needed to know something.If say I ever need to export a maerial from Bryce as *.mat how do I apply it in 3d max ??? ANy idea..I have attached a screen capture to highlight what I mean !! Waiting for the expert views !!

Bryce and Max had the same *MAT extensions but U CANT import or export to other aplications

It's an awful shame, some of my bryce mats are (to me) well worth being able to apply to the same model (or any others) in another program - maybe we'll get lucky and get that in the Bryce7 update we were promised.

Actually I'd also be quite pleased if they fixed the export function so I can export my bryce models to .obj without Bryce freezing and crashing.  (and to 3ds format too - same problem)

I strongly agree with you Fran.If you still remember you taught me a lot of Bryce earlier. Daz should take care of it..Bryce is so rigid sometimes.... !!

One thing you can do is an Overhead (TOP) Camera shot render of you texture, 'MAT', on a flat surface and import into your said 3D app as a .bmp, .jpg, or whatever. It only works well with mats that are not height dependant on the way they react, in which case you are on your to mix and match.

I did that a while back with a bryce mat, then I brought it back in as an image texture and then jiggered with the resultant mat a bit more - fun experimenting!

I think I also used more than one channel in the diffuse.
