Subject: Do you see anything wrong with this image?

Please take a look at  this and tell me if you see anything that doesn't look right.  If you do, did you spot it right away?  Or did it take you a bit longer to notice?

To my eye, there's something that looks really wrong and I'd like to know if others think so to, or if I'm just being overly critical.

And sorry for the small crop...this is going to be a commercial piece and I'm not allowed to post it anywhere on the web at this point.

Good eye guys!  I'll be taking care of those with some postwork, but neither of those are the thing I'm worried about.  Also, the position of the human hand will be changed, as I don't think that looks quite right either.

Anyway, so far so good...Heh!  :P  Anyone else?

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Yep, I'll be adding a background eventually.  :)

Hmmm...well, maybe it's just me then.  I'll wait a bit longer for some more responses and then let you know what looks wrong to me (if no one else notices it)...which hopefully no one will because I have no idea how to correct it!

amacord ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2007 at 11:31 AM

could it be that the left hand/glove is a bit too small?

Neyjour ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2007 at 11:38 AM

Nope, that's not it.  :P  That's a mechanical hand, and you're right, comparing the two, it does look quite a bit smaller.  But I've taken care of that by repositioning the human hand.  :)

Well if I was gonna be picky it would be the hand on the rifle barrel, 2 things. One you already said it doesn't look correctly positioned but the other thing to me is that the fingers are too big and the little finger especially is also kind of crooked!!
Sorry if that's overly critical but you did ask!!!   ;-)

neck looks bended abnormally, it might be due camera angle though, could tell more if head would show up

thefixer, yes I agree!  That hand was really bothering me, but it's been taken care of.  :)

3DVisionista, I'm sorry, I really can't show any more of the pic, especially the head/face.  But thanks for pointing that out!  I'll take a closer look and see if it needs fixing.  :)

Okay, here's what looks wrong to me...

Her left breast (our right) looks huge compared to the other one.  Is it just me?  Or do you guys see that now that I've pointed it out?  Anyway, I'm glad no one noticed because I have no idea how to correct it and I'm not even sure why it looks that way.  There's nothing wrong with the morphs, so it must just be the pose and/or camera angle...

She is in a temple but not wielding a sword? :)

ockham ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2007 at 12:11 PM

Nope, left breast doesn't look out of place to my eyes.  It's in the light,
and the arm is pushing it up, so it seems proper given those two things.

The right hand is what stands out most.  The fingers seem too separated
and too relaxed for a gun-holding battle situation.  Seems like they should
be gripping tightly; maybe the right hand should be on a different part
of the gun where it would appear to be supporting something?

LOL Phil!  :P  You know, I've never done a NVIATWAS...but I'm coming up on 200 images in my gallery, and I've been thinking of doing one for that occasion.  :D

ockham, glad to hear the breasts look fine to you!  And yes, the hand has been changed/fixed and is now holding/gripping the gun in a more effective way.  :)

So what say the rest of you?  Breasts look okay, or not?

Well I think "YOU" are being overly critical now [LOL], looks terrific to me and I know a good pair of breasts when I see them, real or otherwise!!

Breast looks a bit huge, but its cos of that bulge on clothing, you might want to check how much higher outfit is from that area and using magnets fix it.

thefixer, LOL!  :P  Okay, well I'm very happy to hear that it's just me, although that breast still does look freakishly large to my eyes.  Heh!  But I will gladly take your word for it.  :D

3DVisionista, magnets are completely alien to me.  Tried them, can't understand or get them to work right.  Heh.  :P  But a few minutes of postwork is all I need to take care of it.  :)

Thanks very much for taking the time to leave feedback everyone!  I really appreciate it.  Back to work now...  😄

if that gun has any kick-back or blow-back, her stance indicates she'll break her collarbone or otherwise injure herself, if she fires it. the ejection port is not visible, indicating that (if it fires smokeless powder cartridges), the extremely hot shells will lodge in her chest, fall down into her shirt, etc. the left-hand grip is too loose to retain the rifle upon firing, if there is any rotational momentum during recoil.

Acadia ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2007 at 3:01 PM

The breast looks fine. The gun is blocking the right one and it's in shadow while the left is visible and in the light.  As ockham said the arm is pressing against it and not only moving the breast forward but also the fabric: a perfectly natural occurance.

Fortunately, for her, that's a laser gun.  :P

Acadia, thanks.  :)  I guess once I fix the fabric bulge, it probably won't look quite so strange to my eye.  Heh!  :D

Thanks again everyone!  😄

Her right hand (without glove) You mentioned you were going to change it, that seems to be the most prominent problem that I notice. To me, the forearm and thumb should stay straight and it is the pinky side of the hand that should break an angle at the forearm in order to look like she's holding the rifle comfortably and still have the other hand close to her body. In her current position right hand position the other hand would have to be further out, away from her chest. my 2 good luck

Tiari ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2007 at 6:33 PM

The right breast to me (OUR right) looks......... wrong, like her bra is wadded up with toilet paper and much bigger than the other.

pjz99 ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2007 at 10:49 PM · edited Tue, 27 February 2007 at 10:50 PM

Aside from the bumpy shoulder, which you already noted, I'd try to put some more action on the fingers of the right hand, the pose is pretty flat.  Think of a violinist with her fingers playing across the strings.

Left breast does look mis-shapen, appears to be the clothing fit isn't as snug as it ought to be.  A bit lumpy too.

Overall the pose is a little problematic if she's actually going to fire that gun and expect recoil, but if it's just intended to be "girl holding a gun" illustration it's not a big deal.  If you have in your mind that she's really getting ready to shoot that gun, then she needs more of her body behind it to absorb the recoil.  As it stands it's going to bang her pretty hard in the tit.

edit: oops, laser gun huh.  ^_^  As a viewer I still expect her to hold it like she means to hurt you with it.

Why don't you make the shirt dynamic, so then it would lay correctly
