Subject: Apollo Maximus 2007 is coming, and he's going to be FREE!!!

YngPhoenix ( ) posted Thu, 01 March 2007 at 3:18 PM

Always wanted to get him, but something always seemed to prevent me from affording him. So this is definitely great news for me.

RAMWorks ( ) posted Thu, 01 March 2007 at 3:20 PM

Hey David, I noticed that something was a bit different with your image, nice image by the way 😄 but wasn't sure.  I liked Jim's work on M3 but just never got around to using him much, not with Apollo and David around!  😄

Well alot of my characters for my comic use M3 or M3R. I just hate once you get a character the way you want to turn around and try to recreate it in a different figure. Especially since Apollo has such a nice body! ;) So I did the next best thing with what little skill I have. David

It's a shame the Cole morph pack wont also be free...

God, I'm so cheap! :P

If we can hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominos will fall like a house of cards...checkmate!

If you wait till December, RDNA does a half price sale.  I picked it up last December at CP, and got even more money off with their coupon, plus got some reward money to spend later

Has anyone else not been able to connect with e-frontier or content paradise?  I wonder of the Apollo thread did them in.  I tried in IE, Netscape and Poser Content.  Wow.  That's unusual for them.

Okay, anyone out there know what the problem could be?  It's the one site that all my browsers say ... isn't there.  Even Content in Poser.  Now I even checked all my settings in my Symantec Security suite.  Unless I missed it and I'm not an expert on the program, I didn't see e-frontier on some block list.  Any suggestions.  I'd really like to go over and keep up with the Apollo thread over there too.  Besides, I have a load of stuff I want to download that I can't get to.

Sincerely

It's working for me. I haven't had a problem today. They updated it last night, but I haven't noticed it missing or couldn't connect. Did you try clearing your browser cache and try connecting again?

Apollo 2007 now has 215+ head morphs, in addition to the overall new scaling options, and Anton will be adding new Full Body Morphs over the next 2 days. This should hopefully be available sometime this weekend :)

I have been having some issues, too.  Sometimes I get that message, but I just refresh once or twice, and then it shows up.

This all sounds formilier.  My newsletter from e-frontier came up with no pics.  Both of my Browsers won't connect with e-f or CP and niether will my Content tab in Poser 6.   This must be something with them.  I e-mailed them using support@e-frontier.com but don't even know if that is the right e-mail (I didn't get a not delivered message though).  Someone needs to let them know that thier security system is blocking users ... at least that's my assumption at this point since some of you get on and some don't.  Should we start a thread to address this issue on their behalf ...since obviously we can't there.  I'm in Washington state, USA.

In the meantime, could someone please keep us informed here about the Apollo thread?  I may not get my owl, and other dl's but hopefully you folks would kindly keep the information coming in from Anton. :)

Hi Boni. No problems here (UK).

(Very) briefly, having already added some brilliant new ADS scale dials, Anton's just finished doing additional head morphs for Apollo (some from suggestions in the forum). He's now moving onto additional body morphs, mostly for musculature and skeletal options. He is taking suggestions via the forum or by email (antonkisiel@verizon.net ) but wants to restrict new morphs to human ones (rather than anthropomorphic or fantasy).

Hope this helps.

Don't worry, there'll be announcements all over wherever posible. Anton's really going to town on new features (probably a few more than he initially anticipated), so the 'when' remains as that always ambiguous 'soon'. Well worth waiting for though.

For those having trouble loading the CP site . . .
Anton just posted  his latest update over in the thread at CP - he feels that completion, testing, and posting for official download is only about 3 days away.  The download should be available from several sites when released.
Quite a job, especially considering he first posted his intention less than 3 weeks ago.  His primary thread for requests, queries, and status updates passed the 1000 posts point this evening, btw - quite a task reading all 50+ pages to keep up with the project.  He's got to have put an unimaginable mass of work into it to have done so much so quickly, and still post updates and responses several times daily.

leather-guy and all, many thanks for the updates. All I get when I try connecting is getting connected to the Go-Daddy site.

jefsview ( ) posted Sat, 10 March 2007 at 3:47 AM

Don't worry: one of us from the Cult of Apollo will post the download links (if you haven't already bookmarked Anton's homepage yet). 48-72 hours until Apollo Maximus 2007 is released!

And the crowds cheered: Yea!

I think that was the idea - a number of download locations with his site as the central hub.

Real bummer CP being Kaput! Great timing. Still, it'll all work out fine, I'm sure.

I'm sure there are many others like me, not a part of the cult since I've never met the guy, but the hype has caught my interest. I'm in suspense!

Boni ( ) posted Sat, 10 March 2007 at 4:06 PM

DokEnkephalin:  I know it does seem odd that so many people are so razzed about this character ... I was suspicious about the hype at first myself.  Untill that is ... I baught the Practical Poser 6 book and got a stripped down version of Apollo.  This one doesn't even have all the morphs, clothes or ability to take other's morphs ... yet ... I was blown away with the model.  THIS is what the P5 and P6 models should have been (They are great models though) and what DAZ has sort of claimed that their Mill figures are ... the versitility of this model is amazing.  This is the ultimate of "generic" character that can become so much more and still maintains it's mesh integrety.  Anton is by far the best Poser model creator around.  Hands down.  I've worked with Poser since Poser 3 and even played around with Poser 1 before I understood the program.  I'm a Poser-holic and I'm sooooo very jazzed about this model.  You will not be disapointed I assure you.

Sincerely
Boni

Less than 59 hours to go!

And don't forget that this is as complete of a figure package that you will ever see -- 3 clothing libraries, displacement and skin materials, loads of new morphs and scaling options, poses, and a whole lot more. And it will all be free.

Once you pose and scale Apollo, you won't want to go back to any other figure.

And now so very soon :)

I just added a brand new runtime with his name on it!  🤤

StevieG1965 ( ) posted Sat, 10 March 2007 at 8:27 PM

Ok, so do anyone know yet, if I put the new Apollo in my runtime for Apollo M, will they play nice or will he need his own folder?

And...GOOD GOD!  Can anyone make time move faster??? :woot:  Where is Hiro when you really need him?

jefsview ( ) posted Sat, 10 March 2007 at 8:51 PM

Apollo 2007 needs a total re-install.

Unless you want multiple clothing and figure CR2's which you can't tell the difference by the thumbnail.

Anton says it's best just to make a brand new Runtime, and move over your 3rd party content into it (and outside of Anton's main figure/clothing, etc, folders).

With over all of the new morphs and scaling options, it'll be worth it.

We must be getting close to 50 hours now :)

General synopsis is that we're probably only a couple of days away from Apollo 2007 being released. Anton's finished the new body morphs so I'd imagine he's working out his web page and the download hosts etc. I was able to get into CP for a time last night and briefly today but it's offline again for me ATM.

having trouble getting back onto the CP site myself there is a huge list of morphs, the old ones, and a bunch of new ones several pictures, one of the new Apollo posing and 3 seperate clothing paks that are of a "medieval barbarian viking" style all very detailed looking. and a more modern outfit with boots

RAMWorks ( ) posted Sun, 11 March 2007 at 1:33 PM

Yea, totally cool and looking forward to this release but I can't get in either now.  Such a pity that CP or who ever didn't do something right and now they are not only keeping this thread moving along they are losing business as well since I can't even get into the store!!

Quote - Anybody know how to make time go faster?

If you can manage to go under general anesthesia for the next twenty four hours you will not notice the passage of time at all.

Or, if we can manage to get Anton and his project into an interstellar vehicle and accelerate them to the speed of light - time will slow down for them and pass more quickly for us. They would return after twenty four hours with the finished project but it would only seem to us who remained on earth as if six hours had passed.

jefsview ( ) posted Mon, 12 March 2007 at 2:10 PM

I think we're down to about 12 hours now. It depends if Anton decides to take a nap, or just plows through. I know he had a few appointments this morning.

Looking forward to fighting everyone for download speed :)

Byrdie ( ) posted Mon, 12 March 2007 at 2:26 PM

The Byrdie is excited but the Byrdie is also smart. 😉  Will wait for the first wave of the frenzy to finish before even attempting to download.  That strategy served me very well during the Free Poser 5 rush.

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Mon, 12 March 2007 at 2:45 PM

I'm excited about the impending release of apollo. just 3 questions (please forgive me if they've already been answered): where in the CP site (can't access it right now) will the model be available? will the model be free to everybody, or will the model be free to passport members indefinitely, and free to P6/7 owners for 1 week?

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Mon, 12 March 2007 at 2:54 PM

It will be available from independent locations. Not the CP site (Though a link will be there)
Free to all and not a CP freebie

Alisa ( ) posted Mon, 12 March 2007 at 3:07 PM

Miss Nancy-

Just to add to this -  Although Apollo is being talked about on the CP site because..well, that's where Anton's writing about it, the figure has NOTHING to do with CP or eFrontier.  It's completely Anton's baby.  Don't worry, someone will post a link to the info about downloading for those who can't get into CP.

But in terms of that issue, if you get an error page, hit refresh or "try again" because you may find you can access it then
