Subject: P6 textures while rendering

Been having a problem lately.  Load a figure, clothes, mats and all the textures are there, when i render i get a window asking to locate the textures that material room already has located.  I just have to hit cancel and it renders fine but does anyone know how I can stop the annoying window from asking.

Did you reboot your computer lately? Sometimes Poser gets confused like it has Alzheimer!

Poser will always ask about missing files when you load a PZ3, but I had it ask at render time just a couple of days ago.

I had changed a material, but had used an older file by mistake.  It loaded fine, but asked for a deleted image on rendering.  It was a node mask I had decided not to use, so it seems Poser doesn't actually check to see if the images are there when you load a mat in the mareials room.

That's the only time it gave that message when rendering.

Thanks for your response but no, everything is fine with all the textures, i hit cancel on the window and it still renders fine and even if i direct it the correct file when it asks it will still ask again for the files if i re-render the same image, its not a big problem just annoying

Sometimes what happens is that you replace a material in material room and leave the little box from the last material there (image map, color map, etc.). Well Poser still tries to read this old material.

that i would understand but it asks for each and every individual texture one after another associated with the scene

That happens to me sometimes as well, and I just drill to where the particular texture file is (sometimes have to search a bit) and it's OK with just asking me one time.  I hadn't thought to trust hitting Cancel there though.

Do you have the same problem with ALL the figures or props? If it's only one, open the file in WordPad (or another text editor) and check the shading nodes. I noticed that many times Poser will keep the old texture filename in the shader tree when you change the texture map.

Example: when I saved this prop I chose the texture map "autel_fr01.jpg". After it was saved in the libraries I changed my mind and applied the texture map "autelbody_fr01.jpg". Look in the code below and you'll see that the top part shows the new texture map but Poser kept the old texture map in the shader tree. If I was to load this file in Poser like this Poser would ask for the old texture map. And if I happened to change all texture maps for this prop it would ask for all of them. ;o(
