Are there any alternatives to FaceGen modeler? After visiting Singular's web site, it appears rather expensive for what seems to be a slight improvement over Poser's face room.

I seem to recall other threads on the Rendo forum where folks talked about something similar. But it might have been something that was under development or something. I can't remember which posts they appeared in. As far as I know, FaceGen is probably the most known one, but others might pop in if they are aware of something else.

I'm amazed! What a fun to read and see this while passing time waiting for some renders to finish!!

Men: James Hetfield (metallica), Brian Molko (Placebo) - very different types of faces.

Women (some interesting french faces): Isabelle Adjani, Fanny Ardant, Isabelle Huppert

they're all in their 50s now - so you may want to look for older photos - although they still look beautieful and of course more "typefull" now.

There's a program out there by n-sided called Quidam.

I can't personally vouch for it, but FPS has certainly done some wonderful work with it.

It's hard to tell just how useful Quidam will be to the average Joe as FPS couples his morphs with textures of a standard that most people don't access to (i.e. INCREDIBLE).

I won't really be able to spare much time to really put it through its paces though. It'll be hard tearing myself away from Apollo morphs!

It was a bad scan of a TV guide cover that it came from. The problem with Alan Alda is that he always has a really wide smile in all of his photos. Makes it tough to get an accurate closed mouth morph!

Well, I have a small collection of celebrity life masks, and I'm often struck by how generic even a famous face can look without the coloration of the original donor.  Older faces, generally seem to carry the resemblance best.

I agree ... that morph is phenomenal (he's my lookalike idol! LOL). He did that all himself, nothing automatic about that.

And it is not his only creation....

Although he defines it still a "work in progress"  (  :laugh:  ) and he has uploaded only one image with it, he has created a morph of The Most Beautiful Woman Of All Times (in my opinion, but not only in mine): Audrey Hepburn.

She's not all that well-known in the English-speaking world. Her filmography is attached. She's probably best known from films such as Haute Tension, Russian Dolls and The Spanish Apartment.

  mathman, I hadn't heard of her before, she's got a very unique look. It's better though if I'm really familiar with the subject before I start a character.
  Speaking of French language films, I plan on doing a Virginie Ledoyen or Laetitia Casta eventually.

You know for as long as Poser has been around I am surprised that you can't find just about any kind of star or any one 1/2 way famous.

Think the only Star I've seen was a Britney Spears at DAZ.

Is there a Look Alikes FC2 area in Freestuff with any of these neat look alikes?

Here's one of mine.
I use Facegen with the native mesh then cut its silly thick neck off and integrate fairly crudely with V3 or V4.
The FG mesh is OK but the 500x500 pixel textures are a big limitation, hence no close-ups.

UVDan... you are not alone in this (not to recognize that is any of the current celebrities). Trouble with me is that most of themodern day screen and stage "celebrities" look so much alike that I marvel how people could tell who is who. In the good old times it would have taken some effort to confuse, say Ava Gardner with Marilyn, Joan Crawford with Rita Hayworth or Marlon Brando with Stewart Granger............

In order to get it to work properly, a custom neck prop would have to be created so that it blends properly from the FaceGen head to the millenium figure. And that would also mean that multiple neck replacements would be needed (one for each figure you want to use). 

Aside from that, the geometry in the default FaceGen head isn't as detailed as in the millenium figures. No nostrils (they are flattened), and the mouth and eyes aren't poseable. That probably explains why most images that use the FaceGen head are usually from straight on, and have similar expressions.
