Subject: Has anyone else ever had this "Problem"???

I keep getting this pop up on occassion...makes no sense and I don't know how to fix it. Last time I reinstalled poser and it was ok...til now! I am getting a nagging feeling it is a setting...but I don't know what. Anyone? The last time it happened was with rebelmommy's Evalyn. Never happens on a V3. It renders out fine, but you can't see the figure after you apply the base texture. Is this a glitch with V4's?

ThanX!

Wish I knew what to tell you! Seriously, I'm baffled. It's something I've seen on a texture (though oddly, not that one) once, and it had my fan running wildly all the while it was in that mode, but I can't recall off the top of my head what it was precisely.

Check your document settings.

Also, try going to the material room and moving the transparency up or down and putting it back to where it was.  When things go invisible in Poser 6, the transparency trick sometimes helps.

It quite looks like the preview cannot handle the shaders on the characters appplied, I can be wrong though :). Does it happen randomly with random characters or with the same characters all the time? Try to switch between OpenGL and SreeD preview modes and check if it changes anything. Michal 4blueyes

If you see something like that, where Preview shows strangely but render works fine, there is a good chance it is an OpenGL problem like 4blueyes suggests.  You may want to download and install some updated version of your graphics card driver, which should include OpenGL drivers.

ThanX to everyones input! -I am using Poser 7 and I do use open GL....This happens randomly. It happened 3 times with rebelmommy's Evalyn, and I did a reinstall and she loaded fine after that. But it must be the settings on it somewhere I run a mid range graphics card from ATI and i just updated it some 3 months back. I will try it....cause I only encounter this with V4s! Never on a V3. So you would think it would be across the board. I will try all advice and report back my results, I am also going to cal e-frontier, as this seems to be a P7 problem for me.

ThanX!!!!!

OK....I wonder, is there a way to delete shaders from an irridescent that over reflects? I am working in this now. Hmmmmm....Oh btw, I was right it was a p7 glitch. I fixed it but you have to do it each time. You uncheck enable hardware. And lower the preview texture settings.

Check what the Display > Document, Figure, and Element Style settings are.  They should each have Texture Shaded checked.

If not post a screenshot of the material room for the figure, and then for the lights.

Take a look at your Render/Preview settings, and try unchecking "Enable Hardware Shading" if it's ticked.

Well, it may be a Poser 7 bug, but what that "should" mean is that your video card's OpenGL driver is taking the graphics stuff from Poser and trying to display it, but failing.  Disabling Hardware Shading is not really an ideal fix, as hardware generally quite a bit faster and higher quality than the software shading guts - although if it's what you have to do  to make it work...

Had you tried updating graphics drivers?  That may help you.
