I hate it. Looks like a rock star website, not a serious 3D community. Lots of mistakes loading it :cursing:

I find the choice of "colour" hard on my eyes. It's too bright for me and I actually had pain behind my eyes when I looked at it :(

I wish they had a way that allowed us to change the theme like Poser Pros does.  I would go back to the old Daz theme in a heart beat because it's easier on my eyes.

I'm glad I don't go there too often. Rendo has the right idea for a design. If you stare at Daz's new look for too long you'll go blind. Ewww.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems with the colour/tone. I thought I had extra sensitive eyes or something.

It's not the design so much but the background or whatever they are using that's pretty darn blinding. Put your sun glasses on before you visit the site.

Yes, I find that silvery background very hard to look at. It made my eyes water and cause me physical paint behind my eyes which went away when I closed the Daz site.  I find it very bright and hard to look at :(

Its the forum that is hard to use.  The store is ok, but reading posts in the forum is  . . . well difficult.

I found it very hard to navigate, as well is extremely hard on my eyes and a text size that cannot be changed.  I don't feel like I'm at the store anymore and this was the straw that broke the camel's back... for a while now I've thought of leaving the platinum club because it just seems there's not much new going on there, that is of any interest to me and truth be told - I shop here more than any place else!  (Plus I'm certainly not going to be forced into using IE 7-my browsers fine the way it is)

Ooooh.  I see (or should I say, "can't see any longer") what people are talking about with the forums.  Still wincing here.  This must be hell for Mac users as it tends to have a much brighter gamma than Windows.  And I dim the hell out of my monitor to relieve that snowblindness - still bad.

And I still see the background even though I'm here typing.  It leaves after impressions for sure. :)

OT, but related, anyone hear about the change for London 2012 Olympics because it might cause migrains and trigger epileptic seizures?  I have a slight aversion to such things - the worst are strobing lights and geometric black-and-white patterns.

I see what you mean (or used to)  :P  That background gradient looks like it's moving if you stare at it too long! Nice for the front page but, for the forums....it's gotta go!!  Anybody else happen to notice that their freestuff area is very well hidden now? Bummer.

On the upside, I do like the new overall layout. Very clean!

Anyone know how they made the 360 viewer on V4's page? That's REALLY cool!!!

The new look sucks. Besides being a literal pain in my eyes, the site navigation is not easy at all.

For example, I see they are giving away Bryce 5.5. for free now, so I click on the bryce 5.5 freebie link, but do I go to the page where they offer byrce 5.5? No, instead I too a page trying to sell me byrce 6. I hate bait and switch tactics like that.

And I would tell them that over in thier forums too. If I can ever find the damn thing again.

You know, after this "change for the better" as well as they way they handled screwing up my platinum club subscription, it really does make one so very inclined to shop at and buy DAZ products.

Dajadues ( ) posted Tue, 12 June 2007 at 8:31 PM · edited Tue, 12 June 2007 at 8:37 PM

Reminds me of that song ' I wear my sun glasses at night.'

I clicked on the free bryce 5.5. and was able to download it easy enough.

It's not really the layout but the forum blindness that's hard on the eyes.

Tashar59 ( ) posted Wed, 13 June 2007 at 12:18 AM

Extra clicks to get anywhere, a bit slower I think, IE6/7 does not work right, buttons missing. But the worst are the forums. My eyes are very sore. There is no way I will be able to read more than a page before I need to rest these normally good eyes. Though they won't be if I stay to long there.

You would think there would be a few glitches with a new coding but this is a disaster.

BastBlack ( ) posted Wed, 13 June 2007 at 12:59 AM

It's blinding. Causing eye strain for me too. Entirely too bright for this Mac user. Overall effect? The site feels bland, empty, and unfriendly. bB

Personally, I feel like they lost their pesronality and brand image with this move. WHile it is a nice site, it really does not look like the DAZ that I have known for 2 years. Why throw away your whole "look" when that is how the community knows you? I think, while the site is nice and easily navigatable, it now looks like any other site - it is not memorable. It is not DAZ.
(That is just my opinion.)

Same here Arcadia.

Some posted a link to iE7 Pro, http://www.ie7pro.com
It will apparently let IE 7 users get rid of the BG and change the BG colors as others can do with FF2.

It would be nice if Daz could have checked this out and fixed things, before they hurried it out the door on the unsuspecting public.
It doesn't work for spit with IE 7.0. Come on now, how does a tester miss 1 pixel Radio Buttons??

It's not much more amazing then Bryce 5.01 is, DAZ didn't do much to it except for forcing integration with D/S, all these claimed speed improvements are non-exsistant for me. Reason I still use Bryce 5.01, don't need D/S and DAZ didn't add anything serious to Bryce 5.5 at all.

Bryce 5.5 isn't that amazing at all, considering the time that was spent on it and the little that was improved of which half doesn't even work on a lot of pc's.

I think the biggest thing Daz did to 5.5 was to dummy it up to work with DS.

They claimed some major speed improvements also at the time of release, but it seems only noticable on certain computers. The whole D/S integration was what finally made me stop buying Bryce after being a user for many years. Getting a notice when installing Bryce 5.5 that I need to install D/S in order for Bryce 5.5 to work well did put me off.

Thy Bryce download is from cnet. So how do we register it?

I looked in the faq over there wich gives a link, but that takes you too a page to register 5.0.

Never thought I'd say this, but after seein the "new and improved" DAZ, I'm glad rosity has the god aweful blue.
