Check TrekkieGrrrl's site. She's a  total Snape addict!  😉  And if it weren't the middle of the night in Denmark, I'm sure she would have been the first one leaping into this thread,  LOL

Now me on the other hand I am a Viggo Mortensen (aka Aragorn) addict!!!!  Or is that "obsessed"? Well, eitherway I want him  under my Christmas tree with nothing but a ribbon on,  haha

Best to talk to TrekkieGrrrl as she is completely infatuated with Alan Rickman.  And the role of Severus Snape does not escape her inrationality! ;)

I'm just about to sit down with HP&DH so will avoid spoilers on the net as well. :)

In her latest renders here in her Gallery, TrekkieGrrrl has been using the Merchant Robe from PoserWorld to clothe her Simon-Snape figures:

Yes, I too confirm that TG is a BIG fan of the Snape character.   Some M2 and M3 stuff over at runtimeDNA ( which may also include texture sets for meshes from DAZ3D) might fit the mood for Snape's look.

Thanks. I'm thinking a cross between Trent Reznor and Rickman plus a little bB bishie magic should work nice for the face (I have always thought Snape's looks was based on Reznor 90s look). I found the Slytherin crest too. Yea. I think I have the rest of the outfit to make a smexy Young Snape. ^^ bB

There's always room for more Snape. And I'm looking forward to something that is better than my (apparently crappy?!) Severus Maximus.

What some should understand is that Severus Maximus never was intended to look like RICKMAN - he's MY interpretation of how Snape looks from the description in the books.

And yes, I'm a Rickmaniac as well, but in my mind, Rickman and Snape isn't the same person (just in case anyone was wondering.. I CAN tell the difference...)

BastBlack.. The Simon face will work on JamesG2 as well, if you have him? Simon is basically a morph for JamesG2, they take each other's morphs quite well ;o)

My biggest hope is that someone with sufficient modeling skills would do Snape's outfit as it is in the movies...

(oh and I'm firmly in denial. Book 7 never happened...)

Oh yea, good to see you. ^^

In denial? I think I may know why.  TT TT
So maybe I will be in denial too. But I think it might have been a good ending despite the sad end.

(Yes, I am wiki spoiled!)

I am kinda liking the idea of coming up with your own version of Snape. Over at DA, there are many different takes on him. There have been other books that were turned into movies, and actors who played the characters do not really "become" the character in readers' minds (see Tom Cruise as Lestat). But I think Rickman is brillant. It's possible he gave new life to the character too, imho   Wasn't Snape supposed to be an unlikeable character, but strangley, he got a huge army of fangirls and that baffled J.K.R.?   -^

I too would love Snape Wear!
Check out the Snape Wear on this page! Love the photo with the leaves! ^^

OMG that Snape Wear... WAAAAANTS......... OMG! I couldn't sew anything to save my life but... perhaps I can eventually pay someone to do this for me... that would be the top of awesomeness...

One of my english friends actually made her own Snape costume, it's beyond awesome
( http://86.52.83.232/London2005/pages/IMG_0505.htm - light isn't the best on the pic and she has taken off the outer robe because it was pissing down that day)

And surely Rickman has something to do with the hordes of fangirls, but he's not the only reason. Personally I fell deeply in love with Snape before the first movie and before I'd even heard of Alan Rickman, but that's a looong story not suited for this place LOL!

Wiki, huh? Haven't you READ DH yet?! O.o How can you not?!

Infinity10... Young Snape indeed. He was too cute for words!

okay, here's where I'm at so far with Young Snape (like the version at DA).

I used TrekkiGirl's suggestion for hair, Wild Male Hair. I haven't made up my mind or not if it would be worth it to try to morph the hair for a more Snape-ish look. I made the hair texture black and baby blue.

No skin textures yet. I'm open to suggesitons. Is there such a thing as a nice pale male winter texture?

The face needs more work, I still see M3 in it.

The clothes need a better fit.  I used CrossDresser to convert BillyT Cross Spider to M3. XD tend to make things too big on M3. May work on the shirt texture more.

Thinking about using Quaker's strap collar.  I will use CrossDresser again to convert to M3.

Of course I'm totally open for any feedback Young Goth Snape! ^^

I did a hand conversion of the CrossSpider Top, it fits much better now. Looks cool with black and green velevet. ^^

Young Snape's face and skin texture may need more work though.  ^^;

Nice render! Something about him reminds me a bit of Karkaroff (sp?). Maybe it's that beard and the face shape. The cloak drapes beautifully there, I really envy anyone who can get dynamics to work -- I once tried it with Ness's kilt and failed most spectacularly. But seeing this, I am inspired to venture into the Cloth Room again.

Now if only I could figure out what went wrong with my M3-Vittorio (original, not V4) hybrid. Made him following Crescent's "Pop Tops" tutorial so I could do a few scenes where poor Sev is the victim of a certain apprentice who barely passed his NEWTS  'cuz he was too busy getting rid of ol' Moldyshorts to bother with schoolwork.  ("It's Transfigure, you twit. Not Transgender.")
Alas, when I loaded up the new .cr2 file this happened. And attempting loading my Snape morph results in the head moving away from the eyes when I dial it. :shudders: Poor thing is all splinched.

Suggestions? Advice? Help! Pretty please ...

BastBlack ( ) posted Mon, 12 May 2008 at 10:55 PM

The Levitating Head!  Eeeeeee!   oO   lol

You made a Snape head morph on V3, then put V3's head on M3's body?

Why not just transfer your V3 morph to M3?  UMT is pretty handy that way.  -^

Byrdie ( ) posted Tue, 13 May 2008 at 12:14 AM

No, it's an M3 morph that I made in FaceShop Pro. Then tinkered with it further in Poser, blending it with a couple other ones I made. Vittorio -- original flavor, not the V4 one -- is supposed to take both Michael's and V3's morphs. I've used it before with other characters and it does this very well. However, it will not accept the Snape morph, keeps giving me the "wrong number of vertices" error every time I try loading it. I thought putting Michael's head on a Vicky or Vittorio body would solve the problem but this is the result.

And if that makes you scream -- or laugh -- or both --  you really, truly do not want to know what happened when I used the PhilC Shapeshifter script to do a body swap. The resulting hybrid looked okay and took both the V3 and M3 morphs, including my custom .obj. But when I dialed in the morph his neck stretched and I had to move his eyes up. Way up. He looked like a cross between a giraffe and Snape. :winces:

Then I made the mistake of moving him out of his zeroed position. Nothing fancy, just your basic M3 standing pose. What happened next is too terrible to contemplate. Let's just say he must have discovered the wizard world's version of the Elasticman formula.

I will not post renders for fear of giving you nightmares. Bad enough I had to see it. :shudder:
For the love of Merlin -- and Snape -- is there any way I can get an M3-V3 hybrid that does not look like a post-apocalyptic mutation?
