Looks really cool. Not sure I'm going to have the time to help out but if you want to forward a copy to me I will try to help a little bit. I'm pretty good for presenting ideas to further a creation and I can find aparant bugs but I'm no sleuth, i.e. I don't dig super deep to find them as others do.

Looks very very useful - especially for stuff like wide skirts, which very often stretch patterns terribly. Not mentioning those crazy seams everywhere ^^'
Like Wolff, I'm no software tester, so may not find all the bugs that need to be found - but if you'd like me to give it a ride anyway, I'm all in :)

Since I actually only target the TEXTUREMAP:s you could texture just about anything. The program must have some guides to go on but that is common no matter what you are textureing... If you have a character you need an outline at least to begin with, prop is not much different from a character or a garment ( CLOTHES) it all starts with a UVmap in some form and then you need to get your square pices fitted somehow inbetween the wavy lines..
So in that scense it targets any and everything that uses TEXTUREMAP:s and I want to tell you it is a PC software so it is not bound to any poser version but to PC.
All of you that wants information:
I am at present sitting fiddeling with a functionblock allowing you to have i.e. a good pice of seam on a pair of Jeans on 1 picture and then you want it onto the TEXTUREMAP, it does not have to be a seem but I think that speaks best when just describing in text.. Compensation is made both to scale and to positioning, when I am ready also in acurate detail handling any angle not over the moon extreem...
Then you show the system "let's call it the sewing machine track" where it's to be applyed and then it starts to calculate the source fitted into the target (track) and when the source is at an end it starts from the beginning again making your seem capable of sewing for ever.
If this function draws SEEM:s or VEIN:s or if it draws DRAINPIPES on a texturemap for a building does'nt realy matter. But I think it's wonderful sitting here looking att all this aiming and adjusting just raceing over my screen!!!! :-)

Been taking a break from Poser(ing) until I get my runtimes completely organized so, I can take a look at this if you still need people for testing.
Is it possible to texture V3 (or other millenium characters) with this? I'm guessing so. Just wondering if the program has any limits on the size of a cr2.

The program can read any size of .CR2 since it is the TEXTUREMAP I want for reference NOT the CR2 in it self! So yes you can read any size of CR2 !

Here I have a picture showing how the system looks when stepping and resizing and tweaking a stepped pattern from one place to another...
It is a monster of a picture I know, but I realy wanted to show you BETA what you will have to endure if you stil want to do this.
Another thing, BETA testers, register your copys of the sofware or you will loose this possibility to get your copy free!!! You will have a license that covers ALL future versions while the SHARP versions will not PASS over MAJOR revision number:s

WOW, that's a bit confusing to me. So how exactly do you tell the system to only use the seam from the pants and to place it along the side seam like that??

The answer to your question is actually very simple, what you do is that you lay out polygons, look on them as roads of tracks telling the system where to go and for how long! So what you do is that you mark a GOOD passage of SEEM and then you have another track telling on the TARGET where to put it. I have been thinking about many different systems but this was the simplest of them all when you want to keep the complexity of the task as well as the flexibility.
The stepping routine can actually BOTH blend and super and sub sample so you seem will take many different shapes and forms.. you just render one over the other until you think that you have the least of manual work left to do and then just SAVE the TEXTUREMAP with your added new SEEM:s Even if it is SLOW and IRRITATING one good thing is that you can have a picture with an EXTREMLEY good pattern and then in the same time as you transfer and blend it you also recalculate it to fit on the target.. Literally you can have 800 pixels of SEEM and it ends up as perhaps 50-80 pixels of seem on the TARGET.
Next challenge is that on the SOURCE the SEEM can travel to the right and left depending on the photo opportunity, the TARGET on the other hand does not have the same way that the SEEM should be added at all. So the system literally both re plan, resize and blend the added seem with the targets texture and on the picture I publicised that seem takes about 1-2 seconds to complete.
I don't say that it is the way to do it, but I want to keep the flexibility to let the USER if he or she wants to wait more and gain higher resolution.. One warning is good to mention, it takes some memory.. so very big SOURCES is best for 1GB of RAM and above. If and when you handle big pictures shut down everything else, My 3.4GHz can feel a bit slow from time to time.. But I test with extreme SOURCES so I know that the system doesn't crash..
I hope that you have had some answers to your query, and hopefully someone else might have a few more answers.
The SEEM stepper is not ready yet, but I think that I can release the stepper during next weak for BETA testing..

When you startit, it will ask you for NAME and KEY and you will see a HW key.
Send me the HWkey and YOUR registration name and I generate and send you the key!

Do you still need testers? I've finally got me some spare time again after a long period of school work and this looks totally awesome. I'm good at making tiles and there are a few I'd love to test in something like this :o)

Thank you all wonderful people and thank you for an overwhelming response!!!! I am impressed!!! I am slowing down now with beta testers. Have accepted about 15 in total. If I notice that some doesn't care or don't have time I will be back asking for your cooperation.
If you have a special reason why I should choose you I will definitely consider that... For me it is VERY important that I cover as much of different ways to work as possible.... Pro or Amateur!
But first I need to solidify the software so I know that it actually does what it is supposed to do.
My ambition is also that I can spend the time needed to answer questions so no BETA tester needs to sit and feel left out! So I have to limit the number of BETA I can run with my ambition at least moderately intact!
I also need to write much more HELP-file ( ZYCK! ) But I guess that is the fun with this..
If you have any questions I really want to know whats on your mind... If you need help please let me know, **there is no question with only one person wondering... often can there be only one person brave enough to ask! ** And for me it is a good experience to learn what is really the tricky business in this software..

Is there going to be a way to tile textures smaller?? I see in some of the examples in the HELP system the patterned tiles that are being used are quite large and that would look odd to me seeing a dress with one large flower on one side and then another on the other side.
Also, when using seamless textures does this work well on the seams of the template for creating a natural blend out or will there be a noticable line where the textures do not line up correctly when the two sides of the template are brought together??

Here we go:
I guess that your line "]Is there going to be a way to tile textures smaller?? " actually read:s "is there a way to TILE smaller textures to a bigger one"?? In that case, that function is already available, under graphics you initziate with
1.) Initz to actiavte the system
2.) Set number of X and Y steppings you want of the tile
3.) Press export
Now you have the stepped TILE in the main window ready to be applyed!

A: You have two/three real options:
1.) You can use the STRETCH and the SEQUENCER to apply and test how it fitts OR
2.) You can ask the system for COLOR BLEEDING on the edged, that means that the SYSTEM takes 2 color one from each side and blend , with greath tought to tranparency to keep patterns even if you blend to very different colors.
I don't pretend that I can solve every problem, but it definitly helps quite a lot!
You actually have another tool in your armoury when I think about your question as well, you can actually if you get a LINE lets say the TEXTUREMAP:s are to small or you get a bad BLENDING result, then you can WIDEN the texture map at free..
So that is the answer, you have 3 tools mainly, blending with transparency, re fitting and redraw till you are satisfyed and filnaly widening of the texturemaps... selectively front or back OR front and back.. I am writing from the perspective of trusers or a dress now.

When you say "step" is that like "size" making the texture tile larger or smaller?
By "step" I mean that I place one after the other like a mosaic X in width and Y in Height of the original tile! You have a very simple little preview window to see what is going on when you perform the stepping!
A good thing to recoperate is that IF you want to return to the single tile you started off loading then under "GRAPHICS" press the (Inz.) and then (Exp.) go back to Texture tab and you are back to original!
Keep asking, if you don't you never get to know anything!!

Had some net connection issues but finally I could d/l and install the app - and it slapped me with error straight in my face. "Can't load gdiplus.dll" - is it a file that should be in the system already? (Win2000 here) I'm confused and kinda sad :(

Hello, sitting here rather finished in my head after a lot of code cracking here and there.
So I thought, why not use Fitter" myself and see if I can achieve something to show you!
Normaly I have always done my dresses very plain no SEEMS and no colored edges, to
much work and I did'nt think that it looked good in th end. So RAW from the pressed
Stephanie Petit in a fashion show I call, The fitter designed display...
First the unsensual texturemap
After that we ask Stephanie to get dressed and here we are in the textured coctaildress
And then an inspection from the rear !
So we can proudly say, WHERE ARE THE SEEM:s look at the texturemap, edged and
realy yucky.... STRETCH with a 2 tile side by side has done the work. I also used 2 support
polygones to make the STRETCH work much, much more effective. Can you see the seem?
Yes it is there in the middle of the dress on the backside, all the way from the top to the
bottom of the dress... A lot of edges..

I am working on a TEXTURE MAP utility that allows for simplified TEXTURING of any TEXTUREMAP. I have aimed my efforts at maps from 256x256 up to 4096x4096 with main aim at 1024x1024 that is some sort of standard UV-map.
What the program does is the ability to handle any TILE no matter size pre stepped or not as if it was on a piece of rubber and then stretch it in between the two curves that a skirt or the top of a dress makes. I think that the easiest way is to show you some test examples..
The trousers have been handled with a support polygon of 6 points to teach the software how to handle the space between the legs of the garment.. This applies also to i.e. suspender straps, cuff links, flares, fingers on gloves and much more.. The TEXTURE to the left has a support polygon to help mapping the trousers, the texture map on the right does not have this polygon...
Some other pictures might be of interest to give you a basic idea about how the software is thought out to work..
Here is an example where the seams on the side has been aimed only throu the software's graphical interface... it gives you the possibility to edit small adjustments and then to redo the work automated in process.. over and over until you are satisfied..
What is of interest here is that all the TEXTURE is actually layed from a small tile under 400x400 in size, first it is stepped inside the software and then placed and stepped with the software. The dress has been handled once and only once no editing and no adjustments.
The top of the dress is FILLED with the PicFill function that allows you to pick a colour within a TILE so that your colour matching is by far better than trying to mix a tone by hand... But off course you have full RGB control and all colours is at your disposals...
Work flow is simple:
1.) Choose a .CR2 or a TEXTUREMAP in BMP directly (SCAN) or (LOAD)
2.) Load your TILE
3.) Convert to monochromatic base with button (Convert)
4.) Apply your TILE:s
5.) Step & Repeat until you cover the garment FRONT & BACK as an example
Project result in Poser....
If you could find the time or have the interest to help with this software:s testing I would appreciate help with this. Any BETA that adds to this software will have his/hers copy free of charge and my ever existing gratitude, and perhaps we could all have some less time consuming work fitting our texture maps....
