Subject: Daz Purchase download troubles!!!!!

Just a heads up for those who might be looking to order from Daz this weekend. I placed an order for the texture set by Symphony for the changing fantasy suit. The order went through o.k. but the download page had NO link to download from! I've ordered other things recently, with no problem, and knew that I would also receive an email with a download link. I checked the mail and the order was confirmed, but the email that SHOULD have the download link also had no link!! I emailed Daz right away, (this was early Saturday morning),but they must be away for the long weekend, because no reply. It may just be this item, or possibly an intermitent problem with the system. I just wanted to warn you that you might have a problem and no one seems to be around to fix it, I would guess until after the holiday :-( I really wanted to work with those textures over the weekend, oh well, just my luck I guess...

I'm not sure which email you'd have from the site, but this one might be checked more often: jarom@daz3d.com Make sure you write down your order number when placing one.

fiontar, I had that problem when I tried to get the P4 hair to millennium hair pack... But, I believe the reason that happened was because I simply added the item to my shopping cart and forgot to choose whether I need a win or mac download... Did you remember to do that?

fiontar ( ) posted Sat, 26 May 2001 at 8:17 PM

Eowyn, I forgot on the item's page, but a second page popped up asking which format and I selected windows, before going on. That could be where the bug is. Now you have me wanting to try to reorder it, but I really don't want to tie up my credit card with two charges until it's resolved. :-( Chas, no, I didn't have that email adress, tried sales and tech. I've got the order number, etc... That much came through o.k. in the confirmation emails, just the link was missing. Thanks, I'll try the email you gave. :-)

Their phone number is 1800 267-5170 Marque

Marque, when I tried the phone number, it just rang, no voicemail or answering machine saying "we aren't available until...", nothing. :-( I tried about 9:30 A.M. their time and about an hour later. I didn't try after that though...

I had problem ordering the Destiny pacakge on Friday night. Sent an email right away to sales@daz3d.com and have had no reply.

Hi, Ive sent some info to DAZ and am awaiting reply. I believe the long weekend is going to cause us to sit here though. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Well, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one! :-) I understand that people need time off, but it's kind of odd that they didn't even have someone check email and at least respond with a note that they will be back in the office tuesday, or what ever. Also, some kind of notice on the web site that they will not be around to answer email for a few days would have been nice. It figures that their system would decide to get all buggy when everyone is away for a long weekend. :-( I guess the original heads up of this post is in order, if you order from DAZ this weekend, you may not get a download link and no one is around to fix it, my guess is until tuesday? I could have put the money to better use this weekend and waited until next weekend for the Daz order. Oh well. I love the products, so I guess I should just be patient. Anyone want to send me the Boudicca Blue texture set that used to be a freebee while I wait? :-)

I had similar troubles last week and fired off a frustrated note. A few days later Jarom Scow sent me a note apologizing and suggesting alternate routes etc. It took me a little over 4 hours to get (download) my 3 items. Perhaps it is the subcontractor or their e-commerce software that is the villain? (In my opinion) Their site poorly reflects the excellent products they have. And it performs poorly too. It is always slugish and quirky. Not exactly an "emmy" in the web-site category. Curious needs to pay more attention to this type stuff since it pays their bills. Wassup?

If they know they have a buggy ordering system, then they really should have known to have someone check on things over the weekend, holiday or not. It may be a pain, but it's a business and no one said owning a business is easy. Last year, I had a similar problem with BBay, on the weekend, and it was resolved within hours, rather than days. My perception is that Daz should be able to offer at least the level of service and reliability as BBay and even the stores here at Renderosity. I haven't had ANY problem getting ordered items here.
