Subject: Posing Characters

is there a way i can add more that one character to the scene? The last upload "Ladies"  i did on here i added the 3 girls by creating one, then saving it, then using it as a backdrop then adding another, ect. ect.  Is there a way to do it other than that way. Cause it seems to me that they didnt all come out as clear as the last one i rendered. Any help would be appreciated. I have AIM open if that would be easier for you to reply.

Thanks

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean..so excuse me if I'm way off base here.
Anytime I want more than one character in my scene I add it the same way I added the first one...by dbl. clicking the model I want...and adding to the same scene the first one is already in.  I just move them around out of the way of each other while I'm working on one.

i tried that, but they both move together, unless i am moving them wrong i am not sure. Still new to this, lol. Im not entirely sure how to do that.

You have to select each one separately so I'm not sure how you are moving them together.
What do you use to move them?
You are using Daz Studio?

If you will go here    www.renderosity.com/homepage.php    [ to my homepage ]
and send me a private message, I will give you an email address to use and I will help you as much as I can....at least to learn the basic stuff to make some things easier for you.

Thanks Incognitas..
but I remember well how hard it is to first get started.  I spent many hours looking and reading, trying to find the simplest of things.   :)
Maybe I can make it easier for someone else.

Problem is..I've only been using Daz for about a year...so if any of you people can make it easier for venom...feel free to jump in..lol

lol, yea there are still some......well alot of things i need to learn, lol. I still cant figure out what you meanty by moving each character though. Cause the only way i know how is to use the cams and zoom in and out for where i would like them, lol, then save use that as a backdrop then add a different one, lol

VENOM,
There are several different ways for someone to set up their workspace and I don't know how your's is set up...and it would take too long to explain my setup...but, I'm going to try to show you how to move your characters.

This seems to be the easiest way for me to tell you.
Open up Daz, go to the "help" menu at the top.  The first selection on mine says "Daz/Studio quick start".  If you open that   [it is a pdf file]   it tells you all the things you need to get started...the basic things...like how to select and move, how to texture and choose different parts of your model...etc.

Go to page  5, that's where it starts..
Page 7 shows you the info you need to find what you want:

Quick Access Toolbar (6): Contains shortcuts to commonly used controls.
From left to right, the controls are:

New File: Opens a new blank scene file.-

Open File: Opens an existing file.-

Save File: Saves the current file.-

Import: Imports content for use in DAZ|Studio.-

Undo: Undoes the last series of actions one at a time.-

Redo: Redoes the last action or series of undone actions.-

Rotate: Selects Rotation mode, which allows you to rotate the selected object.-

Translate: Selects Translation mode, which allows you to move the selected object.-

Scale: Selects Scale mode, which allows you to shrink or enlarge the selected object.-

selecting an area by dragging and releasing a box within the working area will

render the portion of your scene within that box using the current render settings.

Spot Render: This is useful for test renders. Selecting Spot Render and then**-**

** **

**You need Adobe Reader to view the pdf help file..its a free program that everyone should have.

I hope this helps.  :)**

** **

**Render: Renders the current scene using your specified render options.
