ThanX so much! This was never meant to be a vent, as much as to alert the forum of the problem. My kitty was in dire straights and I have been emotional, and I know that started to show. Now that things are calmer around the house, I will attempt to get joined there as soon as we hear word things are running smoothly! :)

I haven't had a chance to read through all the new posts, but before I do (and before I forget), I just wanted to clear something up: when you sign up with ShareCG, you're just signed up. You don't get an e-mail from us to confirm that fact (although, maybe we should, since it's unfortunately the web norm and therefore the expectation). Our goal was to make the process as user friendly and un-annoying as possible.

As for hosting issues... we're still scratching our heads about it. Everyone, and I mean everyone, should be able to access our site; one of our engineers is vacationing in Hawaii with a crappy connection and it's running blazing fast over there.

Here's one thing you should know, though: while you are downloading a file, we have found that freezes up the site for you, and that won't go away until (1) the file finishes downloading (which should be ultra fast, we serve most people up to 2mbps if their connection can handle it) or (2) you cancel the download. That's the price we pay for ultra high-speed downloads.

Thanks again for bringing up your concerns here. Always feel free to contact me directly, as many of you have, and even if I'm a bit slow to respond, I do read EVERY single e-mail and take them into consideration. We're working hard to build our site out from the shell it was when it began 6 months ago into something real, lasting, and useful for our users (you guys).

I'm so sorry to hear of the problems some people are having downloading from ShareCG - I hope Jake et al solve it soon, as I just uploaded a few more textures yesterday and today.

Barb, I noticed you mentioned backgrounds?

I wonder if you could give me some ideas for what you consider makes a good background?

i.e. what should be in the picture and what should definitely ***NOT.

***I have lots of scenery photos but I'm not completely sure what's a good background and what isn't.
