well, I've about had it with this site, not only can I not log in to attempt, after 5 days to activate my product, but... I cant get to anything on the site.  This is beyond frustrating, and the way you have to jump through hoops to activate your product is disgusting.  Is anybody else having issues with the site??? everything else is working fine for me.    I've left numerous support tickets, and nobody can seem to give me an answer as to why my code wont work, they just simply say hmmm, we are going to pass this on to sales, then nothing, this has been since sunday btw.  grrrrrr.

melikia ( ) posted Thu, 06 December 2007 at 6:44 PM

i havent had any problems, lzy724, but I havent been there in a while.

Several questions (not ment to frustrate you further)....

  1. have you tried a different web browser?

  2. how far along in the site are you managing to get?  is the site itself hanging up?

3)  If you have made it to the point where you input the code.... are you using the code that came WITH vue, or the one that shows up AFTER you install it?  If i remember correctly, you have to register with the one that shows up AFTER you install.

  1. have you tried calling?  if you are in the US or Canada:  US and Canada **Toll Free: 866-3414-EON

**In Europe, the number is: 33-1-4314-2815

I wish you luck in this.  Believe me, the hassle of it is well worth the product.

yep, have done all of that, have been on the phone every day... the site just wont load they claim its cuz the servers go down at this time everyday... yet no answers as to why my code is saying it was already activated by another user.

I've made some awesome renders, I am a bryce user so this is semi familiar, but.. they all have watermarks on them, that is what frustrates me the most, I paid for my product, but I cant use it to its fullest potential, and they wont do anything for me at all. :( just ranting, Im hoping it will get fixed eventually, but geeez.. this is beyond aggravating

melikia ( ) posted Thu, 06 December 2007 at 7:10 PM · edited Thu, 06 December 2007 at 7:15 PM

i completely understand the aggravation, and sympathise.  I'll be going through this again here soon when my new computer (finally) arrives and i have to remove vue from hubby's laptop and switch everything to the new monster.

hoping like heck that "magic code" doesn't change LOL.

y'know, i had a similar problem once with a different website (no, they never resolved it - and i dropped it, because to me a few minor updates for a stupid game wasn't worth the hassle) - but i had bought the sims deluxe, went to register it - and it swore up and down it was already registered.  as i had JUST purchased it at walmart, had the receipt in my hand, the plastic wrapping still sitting on my desk - i, too, went "HUH??????"

What one representative FINALLY told me is that some people are VERY unscrupulous, and will (try to) register software that is actually pirated - but using an actual valid code (or one that appears valid to the website)... if that happens and someone else happens to try to register a legit (legal) copy with that same code, of course it'll say it's already used and isn't legitimate, please supply another.

It hasn't solved YOUR problem, but maybe with a bit of insight into HOW something like this COULD happen....

hmmm.... i wonder how possible it is.... i'm assuming this is one of the nodelocked versions?

Does anyone know if uninstalling & reinstalling will change that code??

the code follows some kind of algorithm, otherwise you'd find the blasted thing buried somewhere on the cd.....
how possible is it for two different machines, two different times, to come up with the same code - IF it's generated on an "as its installed" basis?  (did that make sense?)

sorry, i tend to think out loud (or in this case, my fingers are doin the talkin)

and i have to applaud you for learning bryce =D  thats one of a few programs i really couldn't wrap my mind around no matter how hard i tried.  oddly enough, the little bit of playing i did in bryce helped me start figuring out vue.  go figure.  chuckles

back to this, though...

anyone else have any ideas?

EDIT:  Wait a sec.... you said the e-on site goes down about this time every day??  i'm assuming as we're writing these posts you cannot connect to the site?  because if this is the case - they are wrong.  the site might go down for updates & stuff, but i have NEVER had a problem connecting to it at this time of day.  Or later, for that matter.  and considering the fact that i'm an insomniac and for about 3 months straight before i got the power bundle i was at the site every day (and most of the nights) drooling over infinite (one day.... one day....)....
(and ive only had esprit since october - i REALLY dont think their schedule would have changed all THAT much in a few months)

the install code is based on the MAC address of your network card.  I had no end of problems when I first started out with infinite because I had some VPN software that pretended to be a network card complete with MAC address which was causing Vue to use it instead of my real MAC.  Once I got rid of that software all was well.  Dunno if that is the problem you are having but it's worth a look.

This is kind of strange, alright. I've been on the site every day for the last five days, and have not experienced one problem with the site.

Lzy724 ( ) posted Thu, 06 December 2007 at 9:03 PM

yeah, everyday I get home from work I tried, and twice on sunday to get this to work, it would load and say done, but all I would have was a white page, even did it twice while I was on the phone with support.....

but.. im happy to say, they informed me of a fix, and finally It is now working 100%  seems the code they gave me for the install was a bad one. dont know how in the world that could of happened.  but it did.

as far as the site goes, they did tell me they were having back end server issues, the same with cornucopia... I am in the us... east coast, if that makes a diff to any of you.

at least I can let out a sigh of relief and render away. :)

Melikia, bryce wasnt so bad, its a tad easier than this, couldnt do things with the terrain editor and this blows that away, along with the great mats it has in vue.. so that was why I went and bellied up and got it, moving things and figuring some things out on my own isnt easy, but.. im getting there. :)

C3D and e-on's website seems to be down again (Friday 4:15 CST Texas time). Anyone else having problems getting in?

seems to happen everyday like that for me... :(

It's been like this everyday for a week now.  Can't get into either EON or C3d.  I always get a Phbb & a debug error at EON, C3d just says done & the page is empty.  It's always in the evening at the same time around 5pm EST.  For me it stays this way for hours.  I usually go to bed between 8-10pm & it's still down at that time.

Thanks. Good to know. I should then be able to get to this later.

Thanks!

I have problems getting on CD3 most of the time,

ktlx ( ) posted Fri, 07 December 2007 at 8:23 PM

I generally have pretty good luck after I get up in the morning (US Central) and most of the morning. Lately trying to access either e-on or Corn3D after I get home from work is a pointless waste of time. I either get no response or an empty one. Whatever they've done is royally dorked up...

I'm in Europe, with broadband, and the last problem I had with e-on or cornucopia sites was months ago. Everything has been working just fine. Because I'm in Europe, the time of day that I use to access is probably different than people in US and that could make a difference. So, maybe you could try to connect when it's PM in Europe and AM in US.

Lzy724 ( ) posted Sun, 09 December 2007 at 7:16 PM

Well, I work, and going on at work to shop or buy stuff... could probably get me fired. LOL... so.. I guess I just wont shop there much even though my problem was solved.  Tech support told me they were having server issues, and the site tends to go down from 5pm to 7 off and on, us time. :(

Sarissi ( ) posted Mon, 10 December 2007 at 1:03 AM

I went to Eon's site to get updates for Pro Studio and Infinite (v 6), and got the blank page. I clicked refresh and got the actual page. (XP Pro X64, Firefox, Roadrunner cable broadband)

Bad time of year to have server problems.....
