Hi guys, i'm trying to make a globe look like its glass, i don't want the glass to distort any of the image, i just want the orb to look like glass. any pointers/tips?

High glossiness, bright specular colour, high specular strength. Add at least a bit of reflection (reflection strength > 0%). Use the Glossy Plastic or possibly Glossy metallic lighting model. All settings are in the Advanced tab of the Surface palette.

Cheers, i'm going to go try that now. I take it there would have to be a bit of tweaking to get it right, but practice makes perfect.......or so they say.

Allrighty then, i tried that, it didn't work very well. It just looked like grey you could see through. do i need a reflection/refraction map????

What settings did you have? And how is your scene lit? And what's in it with the glass? All of those make a difference.

be sure to set 'multiply specular by opacity' to 'off'
